as long as the bolt pattern is the same, you should be able to put anything from 14 to 19 inch wheels on it. You may run into a clearence problem with your brake calipers if you go to anything smaller than 14 so be careful. Also, your speedometer is based on the diameter of the 15 inch wheels with factory tires, so you need to either have it recalibrated by the factory or buy tires that have a thicker sidewall to make up the difference.

The base model Focus has a 14-inch wheel up to the 04' model year with a P185/65R14 82S tire at 32/32 psi. There is no benefit to doing this however, and in fact this modification will reduce braking and handling capability so I don't really recommend it.

I think so the only difference is that the arches (fenders) would look over sized and that the car would sit an inch lower than it previously would have. A way that you could change the fenders looking oversized is by buying new shockers and springs, and lowering it unless it has adjustable suspension already, this will put the wheels in the arches a but more. and it would sit however much lower you adjust it.

I assume so, and obviously the 14" wheels that coem standard on the LX focus will fit, and the tires that they use are thicker so your speedometer shouldn't be off too much. I have to ask though, why would you want to downgrade to 14's?
