I found mine using a metal detector once I realized where I must have lost it (backyard playing volleyball). Since then, I have carried a rider on my homeowners insurance policy to cover loss of my ring.

Id suggest reminding your spouse of how grateful you are that he/ or she is so understanding... then explain how you regret to inform them that you misplaced your wedding ring and how sad you are and that you will continue looking for it. Your spouse most likely loves you and knows that accidents happen. This after all was an accident ,so hopefully your marriage will stand the test of strength here.
Good Luck
P.S
first,
make sure that the ring was not insured...

Think back to the last time that you had it on. Then start retracing your steps. If you still cannot find it, pray that your spouse won't be too annoyed and tell him/her. Best case scenario, you can use this time to renew your vows with your spouse while at the same time replacing your ring. Maybe you and your spouse can go on a really nice vacation just the two of you to do this, maybe like a cruise.

Ive had the same situation happen to me. I know its tough. Its a part of your life. You just have to be honest about it, i would suggest taking your someone somewhere quiet or someplace peaceful and explain how you feel about what happened. Accidents happen and things get lost. Even things as important as wedding rings. Im sure she/he will understand and everything will be alright... Good luck...

Well... since this has to do with Religion and Spirituality
You can pray to whomever, meditate, say mantras, cast a spell, summon a spirit, consult a psychic or a medium or just try and look harder. It's in the couch by the way, between the cushions.

Good luck I hope that you find it. My husband lost his wedding ring in 1998 and we cashed in a bottle of change in 2004 and the teller at the bank found it in our change.

Fess up quickly to your significant other.
If you have insurance, file for it.
Come up with a romantic plan to replace the ring. Maybe a commitment ceremony or something and make the replacement of the ring special so he or she doesn't have an absolute fit that you lost the symbol of your commitment.

DON'T TELL YOUR SPOUSE!!
That spells d-i-v-o-r-c-e for sure!
:0)
EDIT: Wait- you were serious? :-O
I thought you were joking, especially since it's a 'what should I do question!' I apologize :0(
That really stinks. I guess turn the house upside down and see if your homeowners policy or jewelry store can replace it if it still doesn't turn up. Try posting fliers or asking others if you think it was lost in a public place.
I really hope you find it!

If there's no way you can find it or figure out where it is, definitely let your spouse know. Don't put it off. They'll be more angry if you never find it and put off telling them for awhile. Honesty if the best policy here.
