You can combine a game with a treat if you have a "decorate your cupcake" activity. You start with some plain baked cupcakes frosted in vanilla about one for each kid. You also have a table with bowls holding m&m's, chocolate sprinkles, rainbow sprinkles, jelly beans, and similar small treats, as well as a bunch of plastic spoons for dealing them out. Each kid takes a cupcake and decorates (or over-decorates) it to their heart's content. When it is looking OK to them they can eat it as part of the party.

Do several and plan on no more than 10 minutes each!! You didn't say boy or girl! Make a theme....

Girl - princess theme - bubbles, decorate crowns (buy paper crowns, sparkly things to glue on, and Elmer's glue!), make necklaces (beads with BIG holes and yarn)

Boys - Spongebob theme - bubbles, sponge contest s (get yellow sponges and a bucket - see who can throw their wet sponge the farthest or something like that!!!) Do a version of pin the tail on Spongebob or patrick! (don't blindfold at this age however - that would be scary!

Make sure you have plenty of adult help! Have everything ready to go before the party. Keep the kids moving and entertained! It is better to plan too much and not be able to do it all then to have kids that age running amuck!!! Have fun!!!

You can start by when they come in you take there pic. with a instant camera. Give them there pic. after every one gets settled and let them decorate it around the border by gluing it to a piece of construction paper. when they are done collect them let them dry. Before they leave have there name put on the bottom with the pre made letters and give them to them before they leave. Also take celery, carrots, peanut butter and raisin and let them make a good snack. Make sure no kids are allergic and let parents know your doing crafts so the kids can dress correctly. They also have the hand molds were you can mold each childs hand as a good keepsake from the party and for there parents to enjoy and them also when they get older. When buying the clay and/or cement for the molds buy in bulk it is most of the time cheaper than markers and paper.

45 minutes is too long for preschool age kids. Do a 20 minute craft and then some musical chairs. Kids love to glue stuff.

How about making Tshirts with the kids hand prints on them. Use some different colors , waterbase paint and paint the child's hand then let them place their hand on each of the tshirts.

Or you can get some foamy shapes and let the kids make picture frames. Take a picture make as many copies as you need and now they have a craft and memento!

Or how about making animals out of paper plates. You can precut ears and stripes eyes and mouths and let the kids create their own animal! If you need more help with this one email me I have lots of ideas!

Hope these were helpful!

Depends on your theme, but we did those foam sunvisors, you can get them in the craft section at WalMart or at Hobby Lobby, anyway, I put markers on the tables and stickers and glitter with gluesticks and let them decorate them how they wanted to and then they had something to take home.
