If my husband and I go out for a couple of hours we usually pay her $20.00 (so... around $10.00 an hour). We're now in Cali.

We live in So. Illinois, on the few occasions we get to go out w/o the kids we pay our babysitter 40.00 for the evening (usually from 6:00- 10:00) plus gas (she moved and still drives 30 minutes to help us out) and dinner.
We have 4 kids at home, ages 5, 8, 8 & 11
I would never trade her for a cheaper sitter...........she makes sure they get a bath, helps them clean rooms, plays games, we love her.

I got paid 60 dollars for 12 hours a few weeks ago (the dad got drunk and couldnt come home) but that was for 3 kids, and i would have got less if one of the kids wasnt sick.
im 15 and live in WA btw.

Idaho, two kids (3 and 6 months), for periodic babysitters we pay $5 per hour and pizza (we own a pizzaria) if they want it.

We pay $8 an hour, and my children are dressed for bed when she gets here, if it is dinnertime, we order pizza

When I babysat in high school, I got paid $10/hour. I live in the midwest.
