Typically the only planned dances are the bride and groom's first dance, the father/daughter dance, and the bridal party dance where all the attendants dance together. Some people even choose to do a mother/son dance. First dance songs are usually love songs (we're having Amazed by Lonestar because thats "our" song) and the bridal party dance is commonly a love song too but it can be a friendship song or whatever you like. Parent/child songs often mention parents and children in them. For ideas just google wedding songs, or check out your phone book for dj companies and then look them up online to see if they have any suggestions. Many dj's often list song ideas and commonly used songs on their sites, which is how i found most of mine.

But really the whole reception and all dances to be included are up to you. The songs and dances you choose should best reflect you and your husband. Have fun choosing!

If you are having kids I would suggest the standard Chicken Dance, Hokey Pokey YMCA, but I would also suggest "I Like to Move It, Move It" Its an older song, but has come back now with the movie Madagascar and all the kids absolutely LOVE it, we're actually kicking off our party with that song to get the kids involved and having fun.
