Well, at 14 your hormones are "messed up" anyway.
What weight lifting CAN do to an adolescent is cause joint and bone damage that will plague you for your entire life.
Weight lifting is a dubious activity, at best, but if you insist on doing it, go for lighter weights and more reps. That way your body won't be damaged quite as much.
But by no means should you engage in power-lifting.

It is not working out or lifting weights that will cause problems with hormones. I would steer clear of any nutritional supplements at this age, as they could have an effect on hormone levels, but then again, I am leery of any kind of supplements even for adults and think just a good exercise plan is the better way to go.

No, lifting weights in your younger teen years won't mess with normal hormone production. There have been studies that suggest the bones "seal" with regular heavy lifting, thereby stunting bone growth--but these studies are far from conclusive. So long as you're using proper form, and take care to only lift weights that you can handle (hang your ego at the gym door, in other words), I really don't see where you'll have any problems.

At 14 you r hormones are already so messed up that if anything it will give all that testosterone something to do. But be carefull, I've read reports that say to much stress on you muscles and bones to early will cause the growth plates to fuze sooner. Thats why you see alot of shorter buff guys, and not so many tall ones.

No, lifting can not mess up your hormones. You need to be careful that you do not lift too much because it might cause damage to your growth plates at the ends of your bones. Get some guidance and do not try to become a champion weight lifter yet.

At your age you will want to have a two work out schedual ..you will want to work out with light weights most of the time and have higher reps but twice a week i recommend using heavier weights with lower reps for bulking up ..so remember high reps low weight for definition and low reps high weight for bulking up..your at a funny age where your body is still growing so if you do it the way i just explained in a few months you will start to see a six pack abs comming out just fine and you'll add atleast an inch to your arms and chest every few moths..and develop evenly ..good luck

Working out at age 14 won't mess up your hormones. Lifting too much may cause some aches and pains here and there but it is good for you.

unless you work out right and wiith light weights, under the care of a trainer, working out will almost certainly mess with your growth plates. I dont know about hormones though

No lifting weights have nothing to do with hormones and a lot to do with muscles. Chances are you may increase smoother blood flow.
Don't believe everything you hear on here. Take care!
