Ask him to move in first. See how things progress

Everyone seems to fixated on the marriage issue.
Remember that marriage is not essential in todays society.
I'm not saying don't do it but you would be wise to live with him for a while, only then will you find out what he's really like. What I mean is that you may be great as you are now but you could be intolerant of each other when you move in together. We all have habits that annoy our partners. You may find his habits unbearable. If after a year or two things are still great then why not. So many marriages end in tears when people rush into things, if you are meant for each other then you will always be together. Therefore...No rush.

You just have to take your time. Maybe sit him down and have a serious conversation in regards to the matter. Don't give him ultimatums, just let him know that he is giving you mixed signals and you want to know where he's coming from. If you push this subject to hard you will actually push him away. If you love him and want to spend the rest of your life with him, then there should be no real hurry.

when it comes to guys to you have let them do it in their time. all you can do is drop hints that you care about him enough to share a future with him. guys dont like the push and shove idea its makes them feel pressured to do something they may not want to jsut make you happy. my suggestion would be to ask him where he sees you guys in 6 months. dont place your question to far in the future that he knows you are talking about marriage. place it close enough to the present that way it feels more real to him. let him be the one to say something about the farther future. and then take the conversation from there. me and my bf have been together over a year and we have poke fun at the idea of a future together and then we actually talked about what we wanted. we dont plan to be engaged for at least another year, and we wont be married for at least another 2 years. its about when the time is right for you.

You shouldn't have to convince him to say yes....he should want to do it on his own. If you push him, you'll lose him. If you're sure you're ready to live together (remember, that in itself is a huge committment) then sit him down and tell him you think it's time. If he disagrees, then you have to decide if he's worth waiting for.

you dont convince him, if the feeling is right for him then he will move in for you! you dont get him to! give him time for his heart to be in the right place, so he can be dedicated to you!

Or maybe its something you need to bring up with him, sit down and talk to him about it like the mature adults that you must be!

wait for a ring and the I Do's.

My husband asked me every day for about a year if I would move in but I would not until we were married. I don't regret waiting. If he is the right one and he will marry you it is truly worth it.

You'll just have to wait until he asks you to marry him. If you push him into it he'll back off. Don't move in until the wedding date has been set.

Maybe he wants to live with you for a while before he asks you. I would ask him if he wants you to move in or vice/versa and how much money you guys will save on bills etc. Then you'll have extra money for vacations etc.

Laura...You have this backwards. Wouldn't it be better for him to encourage you to say, "I do?" If you want a husband, don't settle for being a roomate. You will end up doing the cooking, cleaning, etc., etc, etc, with none of the benefits of being a wife.

Think about it. Don't you deserve the best?

sit down and talk with him. Tell him that you are thrilled that he wants to live with you but you want to know that this is going to lead to a wedding in the end.
