First of all I have to tell you that your chances of getting bit by a "pit bull" are slim to none, unless you live close to someone that owns one of the 3 breeds that people call "pit bulls" (american pit bull terriers, american staffordshire terriers, and staffordshire bull terriers) and the dog has been trained to be mean. All 3 of the breeds that people call "pit bulls" are normally very people friendly! They were bred to fight other dogs and some animals, but human agression was NEVER tolerated in these breeds. These dogs required handeling before, durring and after the fights AND most of them were also family pets, so the dogs that showed any signs of human agression were killed! Only people friendly "pit bulls" were bred.... Just like with any breed, if the dog is abused, not properly trained, not properly socalized or trained to be mean, chances are the dog will be mean. "Pit bulls" live to please people and to be shown some afection and love! Pit Bulls are one of the most stable people-friendly dogs in existence. The National Canine Temperament Testing Association tested 122 breeds, and Pit Bulls placed the 4th highest with a 95% passing rate!... Now, to answer you question.. If you think that you are about to get attacked by a dog there are a few things you can do to try to defuse the situation... Stand still and put your hands in your pockets or behind your back (an arm is something they will want to grab onto), avoid eye contact because it is confrontational and it is always unwise to turn your back, so standing sideways and looking slightly away would be a good idea. If a dog does bite, do not pull away because that will tear the flesh, but shout for help and hope there is someone with a breaking stick to introduce between the jaws. Anything will do that can be slid between the teeth at the side, but given the strength of the jaw and the leverage, it would have to be a very powerful bit of stick or it will just break. Dog attacks are very rare. What is called "dominant" aggressive behaviour like barking is normal and does not make a dog likely to attack unless provoked. More dangerous is "predatory" aggression which is unusual but means the dog can strike without any warning at all. And cances are, if a target like a person has been attacked once, the dog will seek out human targets again. Never run because the dog will always overtake you, move away slowly and don't make any sudden movements. And don't approach the dog. Also.. acting in a friendly and confident way will lessen their own fear.... As far as gouging the dogs eyes out.. I dont know? It might just piss it off even more! lol.. I dont think I would try that.... OH, also.. I just have to say that getting attacked by a "pit bull" isnt going to be any different than getting attacked by any other breed really. "Pit bulls" do not have the strongest jaws of any breed and their jaws do not lock. Their jaws are no different than any other breed and any vet will tell you that. "Pit bulls" feel pain just as much as any breed and again MOST of them are not human agressive!

Do you guy purely like commencing a combat. i will't combat you. it is the u . s . a .. you have the properly suited to have a pit bull. such as you have the properly suited to open your mouth. yet it is what i think the pit bull has outlive its use. It has to alter or pass by applying-by applying. i'd on no account breed a pit bull. yet it is purely me. they won't rigidity me too bred pit bulls. and that i've got not got the properly suited to lead them to quit. She became into fixed precise as quickly as I have been given her. because of the fact i don't believe in breeding them. The stalker has gotten into my homestead whilst i became into drowsing. considering it is the only way he has of undertaking to harm me. because of the fact i'm going to enable you recognize I chew lots harder then any pit bull. He ran so rapid and out the door. She not often had time to bark. sure yet another breed would have labored. however the scale and the very short hair is what i mandatory. i will't have a canine it is to in many cases going on. I even have been biten by applying labs. i'm not the wimping individual that yells a pair of little chew. on no account been biten by applying a pit bull. Had extra adult males attempting to harm me then a canine. So we could do away with the adult males. See how dumb does it sound. maximum human beings it is not even appropriate to the canine. it is the rights and the goverment and small team of human beings taking all of them. and study the canine. that isn't why they have been breed. they're an extremely previous breed. canine struggling with is extra a sparkling difficulty. Put your thumb in his mouth and press down under his tongue. If you grab the lower jaw like this, he cannot bite down - but beware, a pit bull is a heck of a lot stronger than you think. Eye gouging sounds good, too. I'd choke it or try to rip its jaws apart.

Whatever you do don't run!!! Other than that if your arm is in there mouth press into it until you are at the back of the mouth. Never pull away! If you panic it will feed the violence in any animal. And again remain the dominant partner and always sternly say no. And realize that all pitbulls are not mean so dont apprach them with the thought.

Your best bet is to stop, drop, curl into a ball, protect your head and neck and scream at the top of your lungs. Chances are (in any dog attack, I dont get why youre singling out pits) the dog will get your fingers before you even get close to their eyes.

mace or pepper spray the only problem is you might get a mist of it too . next best thing is a shovel to the head . sorry dont really know seems to me if they have you they are going to mame you and you will never be the same again . I lost my finger to one and he broke it in half so bad that the dr felt best to amputate my finger . good luck .

Basically feed it your weak arm keep shoving that arm to the back of the mouth. and advance on the dog driving it back (and over on its back if you can). Ive seen very larg dogs reduced to quivering this way.
Better yet learn to read a dog and advoid the entire problem

Yes that could work, but its funny that you mention this. One day as i was going for a walk i was thinking to myself "hmm, what would i do if i got attacked by a pitbull" Well i assumed if i was on the ground and it was on top of me i would wrap my legs around its ribs and squeeze and attempt to break them, then pound with my fists as hard as i can on its chest...I never said this would work, so i dont understand why people are thumbing me down, i just said thats what i would probably do. I don't know what to do, thats just a method that i think i would do if this actually happened.
