Seriously, they're so adorable. And loving. Trust me, once you sit down, you won't go five seconds without a cat jumping up, circling around, and lying down, purring. I've got beautiful smokey cats, black and white, siamese colored, grey, and one all over black. They're so nice and sweet and loving, we just can't take care of all of them! Please help!

Find a rescue before they get to old. They may ask you to help get them ready for adoption but they will at least go to better homes than just online yahoo.

Spay the mom asap

So you want to shuffle your burden off on someone else? Why? YOU created it! You need to start acting like a responsible pet owner and get your cats spayed/neutered. The shelters and humane societies are hip-deep in them now. In my county alone there are four humane societies. Each one of them receives approx. 33 animals EACH DAY. Do the math. That's 132 animals daily. There aren't enough cages and food and facilities to even hold two week's worth at that rate. They are euthanizing them almost as fast as they come in. And that's just ONE county! This scenario is taking place all over the U.S.

Grow up and take responsibility for the animals that you let breed. And do NOT put out an ad such as what you have shown here. Your responses will be unscrupulous people that will pose as 'nice folks,' sometimes even whole families, in order to get free cats. They then do two things: either sell them to a laboratory for experimentation, or sell them as bait to be torn apart in front of dog-fight enthusiasts. Either way, the living hell and pain and cruelty they will go through is unimaginable.

You need to make a real extended effort and give them to a rescue organization. Good luck on that one, since most of them are already overwhelmed, especially at this time of year (spring) when a lot of babies are being born. If you can't find any rescue organization that will take them, then the only alternative is the humane society. Perhaps if they are young and cute, they may be lucky enough to find a good, RESPONSIBLE home that will make the effort to care for them and provide medical care as well as food. Even the humane society doesn't do home checks so the animals pretty much have to take their chances. It's far better to receive a shot while being pet by gentle hands, and drift off to sleep, than to exist in a hellish life. The older I get and the more torment and irresponsibility I've seen convinces me that quality of life is everything. Remember, once they leave your hands you have no control over what happens to them. And you will have to live with it for the rest of your life, so make good choices.

A good way to lighten the burden, Jake, would be to get your cats spayed and neutered. Contact your local SPCA or Humane Society. They can advise you on spay and neuter programs as well as help place the cats in good homes.
