I have had my 96' honda accord lx since it was brand new. everything is stock. lately, my speakers have been cutting out randomly. i took apart my entire center console, and made sure that everything was connected. the sound is still going on for ten minutes and off for ten minutes and i cannot figure out why. whats my next step?? the main terminal in the back of the radio is connected, and the antenna is connected. there is another terminal that looks sort of like a midi input it says "CH G" above it. There is nothing plugged into here and there is no visable wire to plug into it. On the radio's display it shows full signal radio and the little "st" above it, so the head unit appears to be working. What should i do next??? i just spent the past 2 hours disassembling my entire center console, i would like to fix something before beginning to reassemble the car.

help!?!?

I have to agree, sounds like a faulty radio. You may be able to find a replacement at a salvage yard.

Unfortunately, since you made sure all the connections were good, it sounds like an internal problem with your radio. Something heating up during the 10mins of audio time & then cooling down the next 10mins, etc.

Could be an internal radio problem--if you have access to another radio that you know works, hook it up temporarily to see if the radio is at fault. Just hook up power, ground, antenna, and a couple speaker wires.

If you have power, try replacing your RCA wires.
