No. Not even if it's a Bible. All of your jewelry, clothing & other belongings that you come into the receiving area with will be placed in an envelope with your booking number on it & you can get it back when you leave (if you're lucky). Don't bring anything with you that you really like or you couldn't live without, because chances are high that you will never see them again! Leave your keys, wallet, id, watch, rings, etc with someone you trust or at home before you go in. Magazines & bibles will usually be provided for you upon request from a trustee or guard. Don't wear your good shoes either, because these disappear first when they are stored in the property room. Have a nice weekend.

every jail is different. Usually, no. They will tell you before exactly what to bring.Otherwise bring it. If no, they'll hold it to you leave. Its only two days. By the time you process in and out, its like a day. Think about what you did and how your not going to do it again. Next time you'll need a really long book!

Check with the jail. Although all personal items are taken when someone is booked for processing that is different from serving jail time.

The jails that I am familiar with in Illinois do not allow any personal property to be brought in.
