I was just wondering. I see some have the top contributor under their handle and would like to know what it takes to have that under mine?

A certain percentage of your best answers has to be in one category. I was a top contributor in Law Enforcement and Police for a while but then I started answering questions in Politics and lost my banner. If you stray from your category for too long or answer too many questions in another category, you loose the title.

They never really did say what is the numerical basis to it. I am guessing that it takes being above a certain percentage of best answers in a category. But I don't see any place where they tell you what that percentage is or where your best answer percentage stands for a specific category. I think that Yahoo is worried if the showed those two numbers many people would go to unpopular categories and try to run up a high score in those categories and make it all into a point game.

I noticed most of them just like to bash Bush a lot and give each others thumbs up for that.

Great question! I've often wondered that myself.
