Nope.

If the island can heal him of his paralysis and Jacob said "Help me" to Locke, he will be just fine.

He wasn't shot in the heart...

I don't think so.

Naomi had a punctured lung, but healed fast.

Locke has a bullet in roughly the same place.

Thing is, if Locke survives, how comes the guy whose body he fell on top of, a guy with a bullet to the head, didn't?
Locke is too special too unique.

That stuff, the powdery stuff, seems to be trapping Jacob..

Jacob needs Lockes Help.
Jacob, as he know from what Mikhail, etc have said, is a fundementally good person/being/thing.

We also know ben doesn't really see him.

Locke did see and hear him (see lostpedia)
Thus, Locke is far too special and important to let go.

Also, I think his father, the one Sawyer killed, is in reality a clone, as are the corpses found by the ocean rescue folks who found the plane. Clones made by Mittelwork science, a part of the hanso foundation.

I certainly have my doubts about that. There was something in the way they showed his body lying there at the bottom of that pit that made me think he wasn't really dead. I don't think the island called him there just so he could end up that way. I think he has a greater purpose there.
I think Ben took him there and shot him like he did because that invisible guy in that hut (Jacob?) chose to ask Locke to "help me".

I'm wondering the same thing... How can someone survive a bullet in the heart? And yet, he's such an interesting character, how can they let him go? I think Jack will come to his rescue or something like that.

I have a feeling that Locke isn't dead yet. He is still a major character/part of the show. Also, it appeared that he was shot in the gut/intestines, not the heart.

John Locke died over 200 years ago!

Hope not, that would really be big, since he is a major main character. Gonna be interesting to see what happens in the finale.

i heard on the radio that the actor that plays locke has sold his house in hawaii. that could possibly mean he's leaving the show for good because he's being killed off. i hope not. locke is freakin sweet.

People heal fast on that island. I think he's to intricate to the plot to die.

Possibly! (But I see a glimmer of hope that he may stick around a little bit longer.)
