Mantazma - You're going to have to explain that to me. How does having faith and thinking for ourselves have anything to do with one another?

fr_chuck - Your point is valid, but it poses another question. How do you know that your Bible is not changed to reflect the ideals of evil men? It has been retranslated, changed, had parts removed, added for thousands of years. Who is to know what is true and what is one's ambition.

Everything in this world is open to interpretation. If you have a child, and all you do is take your kid to their little league games, and sometimes go watch them at their practice, someone could interpret that as you have an unhealthy interest in little kids. That you are a potential pedophile. The other parents don't spend so much time going to their kids' games and watching their practices.... The truth is, you are just taking an interest in your child's life, and you enjoy watching your little boy or girl growing up. But some people could interpret it as you are a sicko. Some people could interpret it as you are just looking to spend time away from your spouse.... So, darn you, why do you do that, it's open to interpretation!!!! Because you love your kid, but it's open to interpretation. Can you explain how God could do things that weren't open to interpretation? I mean, if a fish bites a worm on a hook, common sense says, he wanted to eat the worm, but some people could interpret it to mean the fish was trying to save the worm by getting it off the hook, or the fish was just suicidal, and knew it would end up being killed if it bit on that hook. If someone is convinced there is no God, they will be able to explain it away somehow. see?

I am sure that if you were to look at it you would find that many of your actions are open to interpretation by whomever wants to judge your motives in what you do.

It is the same with God, no one knows why God does what He does outside of what His word has told us, but there are thousands of people attempting to determine what was really behind His actions. To me that is like a flee attacking an elephant. It is a minor annoyance but does not harm.

As to coincidence, we often consider something to be a coincidence even though it may not be. The mind does some weird things to us sometimes.

Im an Athiest, but If i were to defend the manifest actions of divinity....I would say that the genesis of the universe, and evolution of life would be two of the hardest things to argue against. From the point of view of a beliver, these events are very explainable as acts of divinity.

maybe there is a scientific reason or knowable truth, but clearly we havent founds those answers yet. Which makes science the victim of interpetation and specualtion.

So really I ask you, Whats the point?

Every truth that is revealed to us in God's Word is there not only for our information but also for our inspiration. The Bible has been given to us not to gratify an idle curi-osity but to edify the souls of its readers. The Sovereignty of God is something more than an abstract principle which explains the rationale of the Divine government: it is designed as a motive for godly fear, it is made known to us for the promotion of right-eous living, it is revealed in order to bring into subjection our rebellious hearts. A true recognition of God's Sovereignty humbles as nothing else does or can humble, and brings the heart into lowly submission before God, causing us to relinquish our own self-will and making us delight in the perception and performance of the Divine will.

Why is it that, today, the masses are so utterly unconcerned about spiritual and eternal things, and that they are lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God? Why is it that even on the battlefields multitudes were so indifferent to their soul's welfare? Why is it that defiance of Heaven is becoming more open, more blatant, more daring? The answer is, Because "There is no fear of God before their eyes" (Rom. 3:18). Again; why is it that the authority of the Scriptures has been lowered so sadly of late? Why is it that even among those who profess to be the Lord's people there is so little real sub-jection to His Word, and that its precepts are so lightly esteemed and so readily set aside? Ah! what needs to be stressed today is that God is a God to be feared.

Who can really understand a Supreme Being like God?
You can see for yourself even by thinking for some time
how your body works, the power of the mind, which we only use just a fraction of it. Look in nature for perfection and
great things.
God does not have time, He is ever Being. It is for us on earth that we think of yesterday and of the future. Actually
the future just don't exist in the true sense. God knows our
limits and that's may be why some things we look at them as interpretable. He does help Man in this way, otherwise we won't be able to unserstand anything at all, even Man is the
most intelligent of all creations, still we are too small to understand . He does not have time. But God is LOVE and
that why Christ came to become flesh to be able to suffer what we suffer, otherwise as God He can't suffer even the least. He could chose other ways as sufficient to befriend with Him, but He wanted to show us how bad it is to go againsr His will. Not that He needs us. Not at all, my friend, but we need Him. Those are that sometimes we have things that can be interpreted as a help for us and to increase our Faith in His Love. If you don't see God in all, even in that which is not to our liking, than we can never understand Him.
So we call such things as coincidense. No my friend nothing
is by change but with the will of God. It is our love and faith that makes all the difference. So, let go, read more the Holy Bible to understand that from the beginning we were in His plans. If you can't understand something pray that He may illuminate you to understand and accept not like a human but as He wants to. As Christ said," Blessed are those who beleive without seeing". I will pray for you to help you.
Be ready, open your heart for the Love of Him and your neighbour. May God bless you in this material world that we are living in which makes it more difficult for us to beleive.

It is you who acts in ways that are open to interpretation. The Bible tells us how to live our lives. Remember the wristbands, What would Jesus Do? That is a great way to live your life. As for the world in general, why do bad things happen to good people? God has a plan for everything, when a good person dies young or painfully, maybe its God affecting change in somebody else? Think about it.

That's the way the whole universe operates, probabilities, super positions, and uncertainty concepts, until an observer forces the situation to manifest in a material fashion.

Science is open to interpretation and coincidence. Relationships are open to interpretation and coincidence. Art and literature are open to interpretation and coincidence. Your point of view is open to interpretation and coincidence. Why would God be any different? Why does it even matter? Nothing wrong with a little interpretation and coincidence.

Because if he made it TOO obvious, then EVERYBODY would believe in him. He wouldn't be able to pour his wrath out on anybody. I really don't think God intends for everybody to believe in him or be saved. Jesus and Paul basically said as much (cf. Luke 8:10 and Romans 9:22).
