He was a great comedian, who will be indelibly linked to classic homophobia, hatred and bigotry.

It's hard to think of one legacy of value. No-one seems to have a good word for him. What a tragic waste of a life. A man whose influence was so broad, who could have used his voice to promote peace, unity and understanding, he seemed to prefer instead to devote himself to bringing out the worst in people. I'm sure he has done his god the service of ensuring many with open minds turned away due to Falwell's influence.

You can't blame Falwell enough, that Nazi tried to drive this beautiful country into the ground.
Like an article said perfectly- "The religious right has done so much harm to scientific progress throughout history and never, ever have they apologized for it."
I'll dance on his grave if I get a chance, this is a great day for America! Its time people seen as leaders in this country stop brainwashing people for their own selfish causes. Just my $0.02...

I'm sorry, but there just doesn't seem to be anything nice to say, except that now he won't be able to spread his particular brand of bigotry and hatred any more.
By the way, for those who don't know who he is...he was the founder of the so-called moral majority and a fine bigot he was, not to mention hypocritical.
I think he was a reverand of some kind, but I can't imagine that anyone would be so gullible as to follow his lead.

He got rich off the donations of little old ladys.
He got people to vote for Bush. He contributed over a million dollars to the Bush campaign. Telling everyone now God is in the white house. He sanctioned war.
blessed the troops and told us to pray for those who died.
How much better if he would have spoke out against the war and none would have died.

claiming that God is a sadic that punish people with AIDS something against what the bible said in James 1:12-15 says:When under trial, let no one say: “I am being tried by God.” For with evil things God cannot be tried nor does he himself try anyone. 14 But each one is tried by being drawn out and enticed by his own desire. 15 Then the desire, when it has become fertile, gives birth to sin; in turn, sin, when it has been accomplished, brings forth death.
But he said that this a lie. he said that God test with bad and evil things.

Falwell's legacy is bigotry and hatred. Too bad I'm an atheist, 'cause I'd like to pray that he's burning in Hell.

There is no one who is all good or all bad. I'm sure there's something he's done that was good, that helped someone, and that contributed in some way to the world.
I just can't think of one at the moment.
There. That's as nice as I can be.

Though I do not know Jerry Falwell personally nor do I agree with his much of his doctrine. I am confident that he has contributed much to the world. There have been many people who lives were changed by knowing and hearing the Word of God through Jerry Falwell.
I find it sad that people are bashing him upon his death. I think we need to be united together to have our thoughts and prayers for his family, friends, and supporters.
