nicomp,
Nooo, I knew him to be a racist and a sexist pig that made his millions (and yes he was VERY rich) from duping gullible morons.

I wouldn't have peed on him if he were on fire.

I have to admit I thought the same thing. Then I began to feel guilty for being pleased at the news of his death - I guess that's my cross to bear though (so to speak). He was a horrible man who spewed bigotry and hypocrisy wherever he went in the name of God. How detestable is that? Right now I suspect he's desperately trying to explain to his Maker just how gays were responsible for 9/11. I think this will be the last question I'll answer about Falwell. I do have this lingering superstition about speaking ill of the dead, no matter how much they deserve it ;-).

The first thing that came to my mind when I heard he died was that he is in heaven now, and that I felt sad for his family.
The first thing that came to my mind when I read your question was that I am so thankful I don't have a heart full of hatred like you and many others I've seen on here rejoicing in the death of another human being.

I immediately felt scared that people will put him on a pedestal and make him somewhat of a martyr (even though his death was health-related). People have a tendency to not think about the bad and only remember what they want about someone. That's scary.

My spirits immediately lifted and I thought, "Finally, some justice!". What an atrocious excuse for a "Human Being"!!! He was one of the ultimate harbingers of hate, ignorance and intolerance, how could anybody praise him? Disgusting!

Don't tease. He better for damn sure be dead. The man was a hate-mongering pandering hypocritical pig.

Somebody else said it best: Ambition clothed as religion, the heart of darkness. Walking incarnation of the Pharisee.

I just heard about it! I am saddened and said a prayer for his family. Despite what *your* opinion obviously is (and I am sure it is shared by other non-Christians), he was a *true* man of God! America needs more God-fearing men and women like him. If you hated him, it says something about you, not him! If you hate what he stood for, it says even *more* about you - none of it good!
