How will NASA continue? Will DNA research stop cold? What will we do if Liberty College stops cranking out top notch Nobel Prize winning research scientists? Will God drop his invisible protective Missile Defense Shield that once protected America from it's enemies?
America and the free world are doomed.

elfkin, you shouldn't joke! Falwell was the Paul Revere who alerted us of the onslaught planned against America by gay and sexually ambiguous cartoon characters!
Who will save us now?

Strange to hear Christians claiming that I shouldn't ridicule Falwell's death, when your Bible revels in the death of many leaders who were non-Jews and non-Christians. Try reading and COMPREHENDING your own books once in awhile.

Maybe.
I just pray that we never have to suffer the lack of your show-stopping humor.

Funny you should ask that. Why must people celebrate the death of a human being who happens to have differing views than yourself. Making a joke of someones death isn't cool wether you believe in God or not. Would you have made a mockery out of an Islamic, Scientologist or Atheist death. I know many atheist who have love in their heart and don't make it a mission to bash people because of who they are or what they believe in. Think about it. You seem to be well educated and above this type of behavior. And I hope your wrong about America and the free world being doomed. But fueling hatred, especially using someones death as a platform of attack is exactly why you are probably right, we are doomed.

Guido, dude, while I can appreciate the snarkiness of your "question" (and being no fan of Falwell myself), I fear that you are at risk of smothering yourself and all the rest of us in a toxic cloud of smugness and vitriol. Yes, the world is a better place without that constipated, ignorant, noxious, pandering hate-monger, but it is still disrespectful to speak ill of the departed. Tone it down a notch. Perhaps funnel all of that energy into doing good works, such as donating to a memorial charity in the name of Jerry Falwell to purchase new handbags for disenfranchised gay teletubbies.
Can't we all just get along?

Matthew 10:22
"All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved."
I knew Jerry and he was most certainty a man of God so I can see where the hate part comes in.
To answer your question... we as Christians will pick up the flag like a fallen comrade and continue in the fight for Christ the rest of our lives.

No matter who the person is, life is to be respected and someones death isn't something to make a joke of. I don't remember reading anywhere in the Bible where it is taught to make fun of someones death. Are you sure you are reading the right book?

I've always been kind of irritated by Falwell naming his school "Liberty", since of all the American values, the least Christian is Liberty.
Maybe Joel Osteen can start a university, he seems to have some experience with large, unwieldy organizations.

I never cared for what little I heard him preach, and I think that he had much to say that was an aberration to Christianity, but I don't have a grudge against the guy. His family must be missing him.

A human being is dead. Couldn't you drop your anti-Christian bigotry to be a decent person for once and not make a bunch of smart aleck comments?
Or is that asking too much from someone with your towering capacity for love, caring, and compassion?

I think it is in poor taste to ridicule or joke about the death of a person.I didn't agree with him on his stances, but I won't cheer for another's passing nor will I jest about someone losing their life for the sake of political satire.Shame on you.

while i appreciate your thoughts on this, (indeed i am ashamed that a group called "GOD hates fags" ever existed and called itself christian- it wasnt)
he was still a person. just as anyone on this planet is. death will come to all of us. let us give the man and his family some peace for a while to mourn their departed.
