If your in the UK then every company's directors are listed on Companies House's web site with access avaliable to the general public.

Good luck getting past the front desk - most Companies I worked for we HATED being called 'out of the blue' by some commission hungry sales person trying to talk us into buying something ...

First off most Companies ONLY deal with 'approved' suppliers (those with which they have Trade Accounts). Second the person who actually places the order (typically Purchasing Dept) is NOT the same as the person who raises the Purchase Requisition or the person who signs for Approval.

Since there is no point it talking to the Purchasing Clerks the salesman would try to get put through to one of the purchasing 'decision makers' = and I can tell you we HATED getting these calls .. if I recognised the name of an existing Supplier I would tell their salesnman they would be 'black listed' if they didn't stop wasting my time ...
