My girlfriend and I were out at a bar, and some scum bucket lifted up the back of her top to take a closer look at her tattoo which is just above her thong line. I told the asshole to back off, should I have been pissed or did I over react. She did not want this guy touching her at all!!

Yes you should be ticked off.

Yes, girlfriend should be ticked off

No, Masher had no business touching her without asking her.

You both should have said something to the bartender/manager about the masher and had him escorted out.

Your girlfriend should take better precautions at hiding her tatoo - since unusual tattoos command just the kind of attention she received.

You were right by telling him to back off, and you stood up for her. So you did the right thing. So 1, you told him off, and 2 you didnt over react and get thrown out the bar for fighting and possibly charged for fighting in public.

If I were your girlfriend...I would've told the guy to back off myself. I'm the type of girl where if I need your help, I'll ask for it. You could've just said, "She doesn't want you touching her." You didn't need to freak out and act like Mr. Tough Guy. That just makes you look insecure.

No way! You had every right to be mad! I would expect the same thing from my man! Please gentlemen...chivalry didn't die! Defend your ladies!!! If another guy touches her in a way you or her feel is inappropriate, by all means step up. I'm not saying start a fist fight, just tell the guy that it's not proper for him to be touching her. If he wants to see the tat....then ask.

I think that if she didn't want the guy to touch her, you had every right to "protect" her by standing up against the guy and telling him to back off. Girls like that too, they want a guy who will fight their fights for them if they need them to, but don't keep bringing it back up later.

That guy was, indeed, a piece of crap

Not worth your time to get in trouble over, so while you might be angry/pissed off it's best not to kick his azz and get thrown in jail

the guy was in the wrong, no doubt
but he could have asked, i have many tattoos and people are curious. he handled it badly. your reaction was maybe a little severe, but justified i guess

That depends on how many good days in a row you've had. If you've had too many, you're due to be angry about something.
