This is a quote from the article mentioned in the subject line:
"It is unfortunate that the residents of Farmers Branch have chosen to implement a law which is not only bad policy, but is likely also unconstitutional," said Lisa Graybill, legal director for the ACLU of Texas. "Now the issue will have to be resolved in federal court.""
I consider this to be an example of how the bias laws and ordinances have helped the illegal alien population of Texas and has hurt the Texas American citizens. The laws and ordinances sound reasonable at first, but they have swollen into a gross misrepresentation of their purpose.
For example of many:
All major retailers must display all signs in Spanish as well as English, so this is done for most English speaking retailers. the reverse is not true. There are more stores, churches, restaurants, bakeries, etc.only display Spanish language signs. The owners rarely speak, read or write English. I could state many, but I ask you, iss this fair??

Illegal Immigrants, Aleins to America have no Rights, except to be Deported, after being read their rights! It's the ACLU a Sold out Congress and Senate to Corporate greed at work again trying to undermine Americans! They should be deported right along with them and tried for treason! NO AMNESTY EITHER! Sick of them Thumbing their collective noses at us! None of them have regard for security or the Rule of Law! If that's the Case No American can be tried for any infraction of the law either!

<<"It is unfortunate that the residents of Farmers Branch have chosen to implement a law which is not only bad policy, but is likely also unconstitutional,">>
I thinks it's kinda funny that they say that when there is this part in the Constitution:
Article 4[The States] Section 4[Guarantees to States]
The United States shall guarantee to every state in this union a republican form of government, and shall protect each of them against invasion; and on application of the legislature, or of the executive (when the legislature cannot be convened) against domestic violence.
When it could be argued that the illegal immigrants are invading:
invasion:
#1 The act of invading, especially the entrance of an armed force into a territory to conquer.(well, they aren't invading with an armed force, so that one is out)
#2 A large-scale onset of something injurious or harmful, such as a disease(it can be argued that they are harmful to the economy, school systems, and medical systems, right? And from what I understand, since they aren't coming here legally, they aren't being inocculated, so they do bring disease)
#3 An intrusion or encroachment(let's break this one down):
intrusion:
#1 The act of intruding or the condition of being intruded on(intrude: To put or force in inappropriately, especially without invitation, fitness, or permission: Well, they aren't here legally, so I guess we can say they are putting themselves here without an invitation)
#2 An inappropriate or unwelcome addition(68% of the citizens in Farmer's Branch find them unwelcome, so again, intruding, which falls under invasion)
#3 Law Illegal entry upon or appropriation of the property of another.(Illegal entry upon... the property of another, hmmm, the term "illegal immigrant/alien" pretty much covers that, don't ya think?)
#4 Geology(obviously not this one:P)
1. The forcing of molten rock into an earlier formation.
2. The rock mass produced by an intrusive process
encroachment:
1. The act or an instance of encroaching(encroach:#1 To take another's possessions or rights gradually or stealthily
#2 To advance beyond proper or former limits)(I guess we can see where this fits, too, huh?)
2. Football A violation of the rules in which a player enters the neutral zone and makes contact with an opponent prior to the snap of the ball.(obviously not)
See what I mean?
Plus(I'm too lazy to look if it's true or not and if it isn't just disregard the comment), isn't there something that basically says that if the Fed. Govt. is failing to uphold it's laws the states have the right/power to uphold them in their respective areas?

Its sad that the A, in ACLU no longer stands for American, Americans are the last people they stand by, it might be more fitting to replace the A with may be an M ( Mexican ), or may be leave the A, but change it to ( Alien ). But the bottom line is even more sad, Citys and States across the U S A, are doing what Washington will not do.

This is happening all over the country as individual communities grow weary of Federal failure to enforce immigration laws or effectively guard the border.
Citizens vote for action and the ACLU and MALDEF descend with lawsuits.
MALDEF should be disbanded and the ACLU prosecuted for treason.
What are citizens supposed to do? Just sit back and wait until the country is majority Mexican?

mutually as I consider the two one in all you on some point, I nonetheless see it as time-honored "i'm the final public american, i do no longer would desire to speak something yet english" crap. So what, they'd desire to print warning signs in the two english and spanish. Europe has been doing the comparable for fifty years, and maximum ecu international locations have twin national languages, particularly because of the fact of their friends. Mexico is our closest non-english speaking neighbor, and whether we choose them here or no longer, curiously Texas is taking some frickin initiative.

The ACLU should get out of people's lives. This is what the people WANT. They don't protect people. They just cause trouble!
Escondido CA tried this same thing but caved under the pressure from the pro-illegals.

If you are referring to the up and coming rise of cities putting out an ordinance against illegals. I think it is fair. I saw on cnn that Hazelton PA did this same thing, and the illegals seemingly "packed up and left over night." I think if these "sanctuary" cities can do it, then those who are against it should have the right to do something about it as well.

Since we don't know what the law that Farmers Branch passed says, it's pretty hard to say whether or not the ACLU is right in going against it........ And I HATE the ACLU.

don't know the details and you didn't bother to list them however it only makes good busiiness sense to display bilingual signs in texas. you do understand the state was originally a part of mexico? there are quite a few people of mexican heritage in texas and some do not speak english.
