I have a computer with Windows 95. I would like to delete that, and install windows XP. How would I go about this? It is not my primary computer.

If your computer has Windows 98 installed now, there is no guarantee that Windows XP will even work on that. The Operating System chasm between Windows 98 and Windows XP is rally about 3 generations. If you bought the computer recently then installed Windows 98 on it then perhaps it maybe a different issue as the new Hardware will be able to cope up with the requirements of XP.

So you can only install Windows XP on a computer wioth Windows 98 depending on how old your computer is, if it has enough memory and CPU capacity, if you will be able to find all the necessary XP drivers for the Hardware within your computer.

Good Luck.

If the computer is old enough that it came with Windows 95, it probably won't be able to run Windows XP.

However if the computer is able to run Windows XP then you will have to buy a copy of Windows XP and install it.

You do this by placing the Windows XP CD in the CD drive booting the computer and following the directions that are provided on the screen.

If its 95, and it came with 95, then upgrade to XP is like making a sedan carry 24 passengers, it will roll, but it aint gonna move
