That depends on where you are....what type of cars you're selling..........and if your good. You actually can make more by selling a used car than a new car. Most salesmen make a "base" salary...but if you don't sell anything for that period of time--you will have that amount deducted from the next time you do sell something. It's commission only for the most part, so the amount of money you make definitely depends on you...and how strong your sales skills are.

Totally depends on their performance and what they're selling. Most beginners fail the first 2 months. Successful salespeople in a high end dealership can easily make 6 figures, but you've got to be energetic, classy and persistant. Fast talkers and crooks usually don't last.

Most car salesman get paid based on commission so it all depends on how many cars you sell.
