You could have a small table at a festival, or maybe somewhere that tourists go, and you could also sell art on ebay. Millions of artists are on ebay, and they are all different levels of skill, so anyone can do it.

I just started painting and where do I sell my art? I just started medical school when can I find a patient?
I would suggest you take classes for an period of time and see if you work is of a quality that someone would want to buy it.
Unless you have a great talent you were born with it could be years before your work is worthy of being sold and hung in someone's home.
Start with gifts to friends and relatives and when your quality is marketable then look for art shows. You pay an exhibit fee and set up your work for public viewing and if someone likes it they buy it.
When you work is sellable, then think, web sites and there are several web sites when you can list your work along with other artist to sell to ....the world.
Take your time, darling and learn your craft.

If you've just started painting...Keep at it. Practice. Your first question should be
do i have something to say
am I good
how can i get better at it
what inspires me
do people like what i create
do I like what I create
etc etc etc
You're starting off the wrong end!
once your art is appreciated by friends , you'll move on and gradually find where and how to sell your art. I wish you good luck and lots of time to practice!

My wife has rented out booths for art festivals, depending on the type of paintings you do, you can probably find somewhere that people would be interested. Good luck!

Try your local flee market. I've picked up some, what I consider to be amazing, pieces there from local artists. You can't really charge too much, but you would be surprised what people will pay for something that really strikes their fancy. Good luck!
