Indoctrination goes a long way. Children are being taught that bible is fact and to trust the word of God before any scientist. The minds of the young are being usurped before they can learn to think for themselves.
The Christian really should get their heads out the bible and read other information to get a real understanding of the events the shaped biblical history. You can't trust one source of information especially if it tells you everything that contradict it is false teaching.

Your "question" is not a question at all but an obviously biased opinion ending with a question mark. You are assuming ALL religious people believe the same thing. You are assuming that their beiliefs are nonsense. You assume that their beliefs can be easily disproven.
While it is very true that every religion has taught some things that have either been disproven or found to be mere allegories, there has been much that has been proven or substantiated.
The same holds true for the religion of science. Why do scientists and athesists cling to the easily disproven nonsense that there is no God?
The laws of motion dictate that all motion is caused by the movement of another thing. No movement can be achieved from inertia. As all inert objects must be moved by another, the inert universe needed a Primary Mover in order to become a Big Bang. Call the Primary Mover what you will. I call the Primary Mover, "God."
There are some that argue that if a thing has not been proven, then it must be false. That is of course ludicrous since human flight was once deemed impossible. Just because one does not have hard evidence does not mean that the thing does not exist. All scientists know this even if all do not admit it.
Since the entire premise of your question is patently wrong, I can only assume that you have an anti-religion bias, you are ill informed, you were once punished very severely by Sister Mary Vitalis, or you are a native of Moronia since the "question" is written in fluent moron.

1) Mormons are not considered Christians by most Christians. Every religion says strange things though.
2) Seeing as how the Brazilians and the Hawaiians and numerous others all account for a massive flood, it would appear like at some time there was a huge, huge flood that covered much of the earth, from Mesopotamia to America.
3) The Dome of the Rock kind of contributes to the idea.... The temple building is supposed to be followed by peace throughout the land (short-lived) so what better way for the Palestinians to gain new land in exchange for letting the Jews rebuild the temple?
4) That is simply polemic and I do not discuss polemic arguments "my God is better than your God" kind of stuff.

I don't think religion is a mental disorder... I think it could exacerbate an exsisting one if the priest/pastor/rabbi/etc isn't careful and the person doesn't learn to examine what is being taught to them. I think religion has a place in the world... it brings many people, including me, comfort. But like anything else good in the world, in the wrong hands, it's deadly. As far as those impossible stories go, I like reading Midrash... it adds a wonderful perspective about the stories.

nicely, we could in simple terms start up by way of admitting that for many human beings Black n Whites are extra handy then Grays to work out... for some a minimum of. the comparable, easily could be seen by way of how tenaciously some people who have faith in Evolution look to pass after people who have faith in introduction. So fairly, extremism cuts the two techniques. I easily have a center highway.. Theistic Evolution -- a grey section the place i do no longer pigeon carry God to anybody technique.. yet in my opinion, permit him %. n elect any combination of the two and in line with risk even some tactics i haven't even seen. maximum those that i've got unexpectedly met which i might classify as "fundamentalist" prefer Creationism over Evolution for a million trouble-free reason. they have faith in a literalist interpretation of the bible and introduction fits that extra helpful then Evolution. undeniable and easy. they won't vehemently reject ALL data for Evolution.. yet they carry a million concept ABOVE evolution.. and evolution conflicts with that larger concept.. it fairly is the literalist interpretation of scripture. SO, in case you fee a million project especially others... and a few thing else conflicts with that a million project... WHAT might maximum folk do? that they had do away with that different project...dazzling? No distinctive then with Fundamentalists particularly. they only fee some thing larger then you definately do...that's particularly all there is to it.

Acceptance of religious beliefs that are obviously contrary to reality (ie. believing a book that claims the Sun rotates around the earth is without error) is absolutely a symptom of mental illness. A quick tour of any asylum or prison, taking note of the belief systems of the vast majority of their residents, will prove this fact beyond any doubt.

It is a sad state of affairs when it is revealed that over 60% of the American public believes literally in the 6 Day Creation, Adam and Eve, Tower of Babel. Throw in mormonism's claim of Jewish ancestry of Native Americans, their own translation of Egyptian papyri, the Garden of Eden in Missouri, and you've got 4 million more 'dunderheads'.
Religion's motto must be "Reality Sucks"

Friend here is one Christian that don't hold onto every traditions, I hang onto the promises of God. Now you say we have been preaching for 2000 yrs of his coming, Guess what we are 2000 yrs. closure now. & there is only a very few scriptures that has to be fulfilled in order for Christ to come, 2000 yrs ago, there was many prophecies that needed to be fulfill, Now concearning the Israel temple, You state that arabs has a temple there, that is true, But in just one day Israel will tear it down & bulid their temple there. I think you need to study more History on the bible & also the bible, instead getting on here babbling.

Science pretends to be able to prove everything, but it comes up short.
Religion often has some truth, but then make all kinds of assumptions beyond that.
In the end, perfect science and perfect religion will be the same thing, but until then, there will be a lot of false assumptions and conclusions from each camp.

and what exactly has been disproven ?
if you can tolerate it---read the Bible again
and ask yourself what was the meaning of the abomination of desolation,---could that be in reference to the muslims putting their mosque on the site of the Temple ?
a thousand years is as a day in the eyes of the Lord--
etc.
