I adopted a soldier to write, and am wondering what his rank is and what branch of the service he's in. Thanks!

So what do you mean by platoon daddy? I'm remembering now that PFC is private first class, so he's like, way up there? How old do you think he is?

SFC is Sergeant First Class...otherwise known as an E-7 in the Army. That means he's enlisted at rank 7...a professional senior-non-commissioned officer. E-7 is the lowest of the SNCO ranks but carries a lot of responsibility.

Thank you for adopting this soldier

Well, SFC in the Army is Sergeant First Class. My husband enlisted late, he was 28. He made E-7/SFC in 12 years. He also had some college that helped him earn rank quicker.

In the Army, it means Sergeant First Class, which I believe would be an E7. My husband is a SSG (hence my nickname on here) and he's a Staff Sergeant and he's an E6. I believe when he picks up his E7, he will be a SFC.

I commend you for adopting a soldier. I think that's wonderful. I know they love to get mail and its a great way to keep morale up for them. We haven't had to face a deployment yet, but it will be coming in the next 2-3 years, when my husband's unit gets called up to go. Please thank your SFC for me for all he's doing and tell him that we pray daily for all of their safe return.

God Bless America and God Bless You...
