A higher quality feed made with lamb and rice or chicken should help. Avoid beef ingredients all together. Make sure there isn't any sort of meat by-product in the ingredients. A good brand is Nutro Natural Choice Lamb & Rice. Feed him just dry food, this will also help. NO PEOPLE FOOD, especailly red meat!!

I have a Bulldog and they're notorious for gas, but mine is virtually gas free. It's wonderful!!

Sadly, some breeds are more prone to gas than others.

Speak with your vet about this. She can recommend a less gassy food - as well as rule out possible other problems like parasites etc.

Be careful of what you feed him. Keep him on a bland diet made specifically for dogs of his size, weight and age.

When you find a brand that reduces the gas problem, stick with it. Don't go switching brands every week just for variety.

But, sadly, some dogs are gassier than others.

LOL> I think all of us dog owners can relate. But does it smell like fish ? He may have an anal gland impaction. Some dogs cannot excrete this themselves, so you will need to go to a groomer or vet to have them expressed. Better safe than sorry because it can be painful and get infected. Otherwise, if its GAS, then maybe a change in his diet is needed.

well it all depends on what you are feeding him. if you are feeding him his food as well as table foods then that is your problem. the table foods will give them bad gas and it won't stop til you stop feeding him this, and just keep him on his dry food.but also to if you are feeding a cheap dry dog food then that plays a part in him having bad gas because of all the preservatives and additives that are added to the food. i have golden retreivers and i feed (chicken soup) and they do not have gas , and it is a very healthy food . i have been feeding this for the last 4 yrs and never had any of my dogs get gas. i hope this helps and good luck in getting rid of the gas.

Just like humans, gas is created by what you eat. Try a different food. No table scraps either. Cheaper foods have more filler and create more gas (AND POOP). A complete food with higher protein is better. But more expensive

He may have an intolerance to an ingredient in his dog food. You may want to try switching him to a different dog food. Choose a high quality food that is designed to aid in digestion.

If you are feeding him table scraps, please do not feed him any type of potatoes or onions. These are not easily digested and WILL cause gas and may be uncomfortable for his belly as it works through his system.

What food do you feed him? What kind of dog?

I have a pitbull, which have digestive systems similar to boxers and bulldogs. They are FAMOUS for terrible gas.... And she was no exception!

At my vet's recommendation, I switched to a brand of food called 'Royal Canin'. They have different types of food for different breeds of dogs... The one I got her was for bulldogs, and specifically dealt with gas and digestion issues...

It worked! My house has never smelled better!!
