I have a huge water cravings. Off an on throughout the week. I usually chug a big amount of what ever I'm drinking. 1 drink to me is like 3 to someone else. I do drink pop, but I also drink a good amount of water, and juice(juicy juice, sunny d ect.) I have been on a no fat diet, also, but the cravings started before then. I have been previously been tested for sugar and I dont have it. That was about 6 months ago, but I had the craving then too. I also have GERD.

The first thing that comes to mind, is diabetes mellitus, but you say you have been tested already and that it was negative.

A rare disease which also causes thirst, is called diabetes insipidus, where there is an insufficient amount of antidiuretic hormone (ADH) in the body. Discuss this with your healthcare provider and have the necessary tests done to rule it out.

Certain drugs can also causes thirst, as will excessive sweating.

It may be worth a trip to the doctor because this probably signifies some dificiency. Lab test shoulds be able to check your kidney function, salts, and minerals. That's a classic symptom of hyperglycemia so although you've been tested for it before, that still something to keep in mind. There is also condition called Addison's disease that displays some similar signs to diabetes. It will cause your blood sugar to drop very low then very high, causing excessive thirst. It's when your adrenal glands don't make enough (or consistent levels of) cortisol, which helps bind insulin and glucose.

Hmmm.....sunny d and juiy juice arent enough for someones daily water supply. I usually get these craving at night if I had only been drinking juice all day. Sometimes I just drink 3 huge glasses of water before bed, and only then do I feel slightly satisfied.

extreme thirst is a symptom of diabetes, if one testing didn't show it, but the thirst continues, you need to be tested again. So, give up all the soda pop, and any juices that have sugar added. Sunny D is only about 10 % juice, all the rest is water and sugar and additives.
Also, look at your salt intake, if it is too high, you would also be very thirsty all the time.
