My PC is slow, freezes, turns off by itself sometimes... I can't afford to buy anything. Most scan & repair programs will do a free scan then they want to charge you for repairing the errors and/or problems. Thanks for your help guys...

There are many to choose from, some are better than others. I suggest using multiple because one program probably won't find everything that is wrong with the computer. Here are a few that I have used in the past.
Trend Micro Housecall is a free online scan and repair.
Downloadable programs include Ad-Aware and Spybot S&D.

Well unfortunately, I don't know what the problem is, so i can't say what will fix it, but i can give you my two cents worth!
Its possible it can be several things,
Spyware (Free Powerful Program!)
http://www.safer-networking.org/
Viruses (Once Again Free And Powerful!)
http://free.grisoft.com/
Other than this two many programs running when you start could be a problem, but i really don't know a free easy fix for this...
