I agree with the answer, I would say at least six months to a year before it won't close.

You do have to wait for sure at least 6 to 8 weeks for you to be able to take out the piercing earing. After that you can replace for an earing of your own- just be sure to have it handy. Also, after 6-8 months you can remove your earing. It also depends on where its pierced because if its your cartiledge then it will take a while longer to heal but if its your loob it will be faster. Also less painful. Try getting a bottle of ear antiseptic - it helps the healing process and use it at least twice a day rotating the earing for a better healing. :)

Heals up completely in about 2 months, though it is best to keep earrings in for at least 6 months.
My left ear is a pain though... if I leave the earring out for more than a week, it starts to close up, and I've had my ears pierced for almost 15 years now.

leave the "piercing" earring for 6 weeks. Then, you can remove it, but I would keep some earring in my ear for maybe six months after that. I have a second hole that actually closed about 13 years after I had the peircing done. Go figure!

The standard answer is 6-8 months due to the area. if you take care of it and clean it it could be shorter. If you neglict it and it gets infected it could be longer, MUCH longer.
Also look for something called Bactine (http://www.bactine.com/bactinefaq.htm ) in your drug store. It's usually in the first aid section. It helps with the itching that happens as your ear heals and it keeps it disinfected. I have had 5 piercings now and have used it for almost all of them (except my tongue)

Epithelium must cover the entire area. Once that happens it will stay, before that it will close. You no doubt will get a wide range of definite answers and they are right. So do it by inspection. Any irritated, raw, or red areas and it may close.

they gained't numb them for you. The soreness isn't undesirable interior the slightest. Its equivalent to below a bee sting. The strangest section is the section around the piercing would be heat approximately 5 minutes after the preliminary puncture.

well they say that you should keep them in your ear and clean it for approximately 1 1/2 months but i think you should keep it in longer so that you can be sure it wouldn't close.
