Agnostic simply means 'Not knowing'.
*Some* agnostics believe that there *might be* a higher power that they can't define or that is not defined by current religions.
But, that is not part of the definition of 'agnostic'.
Agnostics believe that we cannot know for sure whether God (or a higher power) exist or not. That is what the word means.
What they do with that knowledge (or lack of knowledge) in the rest of their lives is completely up to the individual person.

From the conversations that I have had with some, I understand that they do believe in a higher power/God of some sort, but are fed up with the hypocrisy and inconsistencies they see in organized religion.
They also may have a difficult time with the validity of the Bible and it's divine inspiration.
All the agnostics I have spoken with are very well informed and polite. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them :0)

Skepticism.
The word agnosticism, when broken down means unknowable. It is the philosophical view that the value of a certain claims truth (especially theological or metaphysical claims) is currently unknown and even inherently unknowable.
Agnostics claim that it is either not possible to have absolute specific knowledge of God(s), or that while that may be possible, they have no knowledge of such personally.

"Agnostic" is from the Greek 'agnos' which means not knowing. It generally refers to the belief that there is no way to know if there is a god or gods or there is not a god or gods, and therefore acknowledgement that one does not know. In agnosticism one may think there may be a god or that gods might exist, but one doesn't claim this as a known thing. This is different from Atheism in which one claims to know that there is no god.

They aren't sure yet. That's the idea - agnostics have not decided what they believe or if they believe at all.

This is an old religion which twisted the truth of God. Even Apostle Paul dealt with it constantly. Apostle Peter dealt with it. Distorting the Word of God or distorting what Christ did has been Satan's number one job.
