What happens to the people who spend their whole lives earnestly and devoutly searching for God and yet never find Him? You know, the ones who say, "If I can find enough evidence to believe that there is a God, I could definitely learn to love and worship Him"?
I wonder about those people all the time, and I also wonder if they ever found what they were looking for. Then I wonder if it did any good, and if they were right. Then I start to wonder if I'M right.
After that, I look back over WHY I believe, and that part of my mind is at rest, but then...I start wondering about those people again.
Does anyone else have a similar experience?
Please, no lectures, just wondering if I'm alone in this.
And while I respect other peoples' opinions, and would welcome them gladly, I humbly request that your answers be kind and respectful!

"No one can come to Me unless the Father draws him" John 6:44

(That was Jesus speaking)

It is only God who can soften their hearts and lift the veil from their eyes-- so when they are truly seeking Him, it is He who is drawing them...because Romans 3:10 says "No one is good, no one seeks after God"
--therefore we are all born with a sinful nature and selfishness- Those who never said they found Jesus, well, they have hard hearts, and it is up to the Lord to soften them- that is why they also need to hear the gospel, because it is ONLY through the gospel message that one can even believe in the truth-- Romans 10:17 says "Faith comes from hearing, and by hearing the word of God"
When someone hears the gospel, God can soften them- and give them the ability to receive it. Then of course there are many who hear it, and only become harder at heart.....but we do not know who will receive it or not, so we should alwyas be sharing His truth with others! God call us to do this. Continue to pray for those people, I am sure God is putting them on your mind, because He wants you to pray for them.
That is awesome!

I don't know about the people who never find him because how can you not He is every where in the trees the air we breath the hairs on ur head..I just think that whomever is looking and has not found him simplybecause they over looking him

You don't need evidence of him that is when faith falls is at ..Believe wen doubting is so much easier
I av even had some doubts ...like is he listening to me but part of coming to God is asking question

An example
Parents make rules guidelines tell you things for all the reason in the world you may not feel or understand so you and your parent have conflicts but as you grow under you parent learning sooneror later it all comes to an understanding
this is how i started my relationship with God until and old woman told me that
the Faith of a mustard seed could move mountains
and my faith begin to grow more and more until my faith in christ is stronger every day and ppl can not tell me about my relationship with him

soon you will build a realationship with God this is between you and him
Many ppl hav different stories how they came to Jesus at least you are taking steps
Just ask him to show you and wait he will

I hope this helps..

I know exactly how you feel. I guess I could be called an Agnostic, because I won't come out and say whether or not God exists. I was raised in a Protestant church and had very strong beliefs as a child. As I got older, I kept having more and more questions and doubts. I never got satisfying answers from preachers or other Christians. Then I started to worry about what if I chose the wrong religion and ended up in another religion's hell? I finally came to the conclusion that I'll never have certainty about such things and that trying to figure it out can make you go crazy. I am open minded and enjoy religious and philisophical debates. I don't laugh at people that have different beliefs, either. I guess I think too much to have strong beliefs. If I had blind faith, I would have stayed a devoted Christian.

I used to say if I ever found any real proof that God exists then I'll believe in him too.
But the reason I thought that is because I wanted to justify to myself why I didn't follow him so I could live my life the way I wanted to and not the way God did.
But God is patient with us he knows that if left to our own devices we will create such a mess of our lives we will eventually come to understand that we do need him to guide us and show us the right way to live.
When I hit rock bottom that's when I said "Ok I can't do this all by myself so from now on I'll do things your way God"
Some people I guess just don't want to do that and are too stubborn to ever admit that they need God in their lives.
But I think everybody deep down knows the truth but some for whatever reason just doesn't want to acknowledge it.
But for those who have never heard the gospel and doesn't know Jesus saved them I think will be met by Jesus after dying to be asked if they want to follow him into paradise or go their own way.
He loves us and would never leave us to rot just because we didn't know any better.
It's the ones who continue to knowingly reject him in life that pay the ultimate penalty.

I do wonder about people that truly have never heard the Gospel. However, I trust God to take care of that.

As for those that have been searching and have been exposed to the Gospel there really is no excuse. God provides us with a conscience. Whether we believe or not it tells us right from wrong.

Romans 1:20

For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.

Everyone who "earnestly and devoutly" searches for God will find Him. Conversely, if a person never finds God, we can be assured he or she never truly wished to find Him.

if they are truly looking for God they will find him .
he tells us to ask and to call up on him and he will be there
you can feel when he is near and you can feel the peace and see answered prayers if they truly are aking for him he knows it and is there pray for them and then put it in God's hand and let him take it and we are not to worry over other but to pray for them and turn it over to God don't pick it back up leave it with him
he knows their heart and know the true seeker
God bless

yeah...sometimes that happens to me too. When the people around me are in doubt about God and then I get occasional bouts of doubt. But like you I look back on why I believe and what he has done for me and my faith is back.

but i feel sad for the people around me cos i do not know what to say and when i try, sometimes they don't want to listen.

you know what? you should pray for God to help them and guide them, and if he wants you to help them, ask him to help you to help them. :)

who knows...you might help bring the lost sheep back to the shepard.
