the ideology of losing weight is very simple.
Losing weight however is hard for two reasons.
1.) Because it requires a great deal of discipline to make changes to your life and to stick to them. To get outside your comfort zone.
2.) Because there is a multibillion dollar market out there that sells cheap gimmicks and fads that don't teach you how to effectively change the way you live and thus successfully lose weight permanently. In essence all of those diets want you to put the weight back on, because thats how they will get more money from you.
Losing weight is really this simple. Intake less calories than you need. and/or burn more calories than you consume.
Dieticians say that they healist number of calories to do this with is somewhere roughly around 500 calories a day. that is 3500 calories over the course of a week. Which is good, since the reccomended amount of weight to be safely lost per week is 1 or 2 pounds.
Most people who lead a moderately active lifestyle need somewhere between 1800-3000 calories a day to sustain themselves, based on their weight and level of activity. There are lots of caloric indexes out there (just google those words) and find yours.
From there your goal is to through a combination of eating better (a healthy mix of carbohydrates, protiens, and yes even some fats) but consuming less calories, and exercising more than you usually do, to either intake about 500 calories less or burn an extra 500 calories a day.
The discipline comes in in that this will require changes to your daily routine.
a few final suggestions.
1.) find a group or person to do this with you. Or to be your cheerleaders. (there are lots of online support/cheering websites) It really does help.
2.) remember that the best way to lose the weight and keep it off is to change your habits, and that takes time and effort.
3.) If you fall off the wagon, don't go into a downward spiral. Pick yourself up, realize you're human and will make mistakes and get right back up there on the horse again.

You don't say how long you've stuck with any of the diets or work out plans you've been on. My guess is you haven't given them enough time.
My personal experience went like this... I started to change my eating habits - less eating out (almost NO fast food), no soda, dessert once a week, no second helping at the dinner table, etc.. I began an exercise plan - walking more (later running), lifting weights, kick boxing, anything to get me moving. I worked up to 45 min to an hour per day, resting at least one day between weight workouts.
I, like you, had tried "everything", except the obvious. Even this new plan was frustrating because I wasn't seeing the results I expected for the effort I was putting in. But I stuck with it, convinced that my body had to give in eventually.
At 2 months, I had lost between 5 and 10 pounds. Impressive, huh! NOT! I was miserable. Right about the time I was ready to give up and not work and try so hard, the weight started literally falling off. 5 months later (total 7 months), I had lost 50 pounds.
I know now that during those first 2 months, my body was fighting me, trying to hold on to its fat reserve, and I was developing the habits that would eventually pay off.
I have kept the weight off for over 6 years now and I love excercising. I don't feel like I diet anymore. I eat whatever I want because what I want has changed.
You can do it! Keep going, make small adjustments and focus on developing the habits for now. The weight will take care of itself. It will not be as quick as you'd like, but you'll be able to keep it off and in the long run that really is quicker than losing, gaining, and losing again.
Best of luck to you.

Well, you need to lose that perspective. I've heard people say that before...I've tried everything and nothing works. This is just plain not true. If it doesn't work you are either not doing it right or long enough.
Losing weight takes time...it's a long term commitment. Exercise is a lifetime commitment. It will work...you need to stick with it.
Cut out refined sugar for starters...this includes white breads. Cut out excessive fats and use good fats like olive oil.
Eat 5 or 6 times a day. Spread your calories out so your not really starving. Don't go several hours without food. Drink water first thing in the morning to hydrate. Throughout the day pick good foods, lean proteins, veggies! Drink lots of water.
Start out walking. Start small and work your way to several miles a week. Walk fast with good posture, swinging your arms. It will work...it would defy physics for it not to work.
Stay away from quick weight loss fads and diet pills. Say no to yourself when you want something you really don't need. Try rewarding yourself with things not food related...such as a movie, or a new pair of pants (smaller hopefully) and when you get the urge to eat...get moving. Go out for a walk, throw a ball for the dog...anything to get yourself away from the food.

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

I have found that the best way to lose weight is to eat sensibly. Eat breakfast, it is a very important meal, even if it is cereal with skim milk. You need protein such as tuna, chicken, and other fish, add a salad with lots of green vegetables, with a light salad dressing. You should also exercise, even if it is just walking every day.

There is one way to lose weight and one way only: burn more calories than you eat.
The way you do this is by eating less and exercising more. Of course you should also make sure you are eating healthy foods, but eating less is the important part. If you try this and it doesn't work, you are doing it wrong. It's pretty simple... your body can't continue to pack on pounds if the raw material isn't there. Eat less, work more.

Eat only when hungry and that too not more than three times a day. Take no solids/liquids other than water in between. Include plenty of uncooked fruits and vegetables in ur diet. Eat uncooked food first. Chew each morsel at least 32 times. This will activate ur autosystem and u will know precisely when u r hungry and when u r full.
Take light exercises and brisk walks regularly preferably twice a day.
U will achieve what u have aspired for all these days within a short period and that too w/o hassles.

contact a nutritionist.
It'll take you almost twice as long to lose the weight as it did to put it on.
You have to reduce your calorie intake, and increase your activity rate...there is NO QUICK FIX
