Instead of trying to uninstall it, go here and reinstall it or install IE7.

You cannot uninstall it by sane means. And removing IE
creatively *will* break your system at some points.
I'd suggest you first try to upgrade to IE7. Wether you
want it or not. If it fixes the problem and you want 6 back
you can remove that one from Add/Remove and get
back to IE6.

@rafael: That doesn't install/uninstall IE. It just adds
or removes links.

you cannot uninstall internet explorer, though i reccomend installing explorer 7 for security upgrades.

it's part of the reason why microsoft is such a strong operating system, it comes with loads of addons and bits to it that should be optional, but aren't. (there's been court cases against microsoft on those sort of backgrounds)

i'd reccomend downloading and installing Mozilla Firefox, it's much more secure.

as Internet explorer is a part of windows, uninstalling won't do much good, and the downside to firefox is that it doesn't work with 1% of internet webpages, so internet explorer is good to have as a backup.

hope that helps.

Let me disappoint you but yeah, you have to go to add and remove. The things is that IE 6 is not under the same list that regular programs are.
On the right side of the window of the Add and remove program there is an option that says add and remove windows component. Go into that and you have to uncheck IE.
Then restart your computer and IE will be gone

In Help run a System restore and go back to a date prior to the date that the IE 6.0 was installed.

As bloated as it is, you do need to keep some version of IE on your system if you're running windoze. Microsoft won't recognize any other browser when you go to download updates. So don't get rid of IE6.something unless you have the means to install another version.
