Limewire is legal, downloading mp3's is not.
They ask you if you are going to download illegal files, and if you say no, they let you download, if you say yes, they do not let you use limewire. :)

Limewire, the program is free........but just as a knife doesn't kill people, it's all in the way you use it......
May programs like this are coming under high watch from the Music industry and soon will have to give up the personal information on their users. Which the music industry and other companies who's programs you ahve downloaded illeaglly will go after and fine you for everything you have pirated.
Is it really worth risking a jail sentence to swipe the lastest cool mp3?

Not the free trial becuase you download for free. Which in other cases is stealing. If you do download turn OFF file sharing. I usually convert all of my limewire downloaded songs into my iTunes then they get deleted from limewire by me right after I do that.

Limewire is legal, but downloading anything with a copy write, without the owners permission is "not" legal.
