Unfortunately too many people mistake thirst for hunger. Did you know that if you are thirsty, you are already dehydrated? Keeping well hydrated will keep you from overeating. Plus, water helps to flush the toxins out of your system, giving you clearer, more beautiful skin! And water is calorie free as well. Most Americans drink 25-50% of their calories a day. Just switching from soda and juice to water will help cut calories which will cut weight.

Here's a link that explains the why and how. I try to drink lots of water as it's suppose to help clear the lungs also. Usually I can only drink 4 large glasses a day then I've had it with water. I usually add a slice of lemon or lime to it just to add some flavor.

Water keeps your body from basically shutting down. I find that when I don't drink enough water my skin gets really dry and itchy, my lips get chapped, and the tips of my fingers (Especially in the middle of Summer and Winter) split open. I read somewhere also that water helps keep your organs from sticking together, but that was several years ago and don't remember what it said exactly.

Eat only when hungry and that too not more than three times a day. Take no solids/liquids other than water in between. Include plenty of uncooked fruits and vegetables in ur diet. Eat uncooked food first. Chew each morsel at least 32 times. This will activate ur autosystem and u will know precisely when u r hungry and when u r full.
Take light exercises and brisk walks regularly preferably twice a day.
U will achieve what u have aspired for all these days within a short period and that too w/o hassles.

Water will detox your poison and fat in your system. By drinking water and flashing your system, you are also breaking down the body fat to flash out. Water is critical, some expert even say water is cure for the most disease which I agree.
