First of all, if you are getting married THIS winter, you need to get on all of this immediately. lol.

For your center pieces, I would suggest a smallish bouquet of white roses (or any other white flower so long as you like it) in a thin vase sitting in a bowl filled with white glass beads (possibly in the shape of snowflakes?). To really add to the touch, place some light blue battery operated beads in the center. A piece of mirror underneath this would be great, but hardly necessary. If you wish, surround the display with some decorative candles and maybe some garland or holly.

For a really interesting centerpiece make a glowing ice sculpture on your own without carving! (this will be a little more costly and tricky, but is a really cool effect).
-Find a bell, bride, bride and groom, or whatever figure you desire. Try to get one without holes (between the arms or anything like that.
-Buy a moulding kit from hobby lobby, michaels, wherever. The most important thing is that the mould we create needs to be waterproof.
-Gather an LED light (probably blue in your case), some wire, electrical tape, and some batteries.
-Make a mould of the item you picked.
-pour a small amount of vegetable oil into the mould making sure to get all the surfaces.
-To prepare the LED, you will need to connect the loose wire to the LED's wires that are sticking out. One end gets one wire. Use electrical tape to cover all of the wire and the lead ends of the LED.
-Fill the mould with water and position the LED near the bottom of the mould. (while freezing, this would be near the top. It doesn't need to be more than an inch or two deep into the mould.
-Freeze the mould with the LED inside. Do this overnight because you want to make sure it is perfectly frozen.
-When it is completely frozen, take the mould out of the freezer and pull off the mould. It would be great if you are able to save it so you can make more. If you can do that, this will be incredibly cheap to make many if you make three a day.
-Stick the mould back in the freezer to prevent too much melting.
-Once the outer layer is remelted, connect the wires on the LED to each end of the battery. If you did this right, your bride, bell, or whatever, should be glowing!
If you need full instructions on how to do this, send me an email and I'll be happy to show you how to do it in full detail.
-Once your big day arrives, have the caterer or someone free set these up about thirty minutes before the reception. They look great placed in a bowl surrounded by floating flowers, but the battery needs to be hidden which can be tricky.

For the favors, I don't know what I would give exactly, but it might be cool to fill some clear glass ornaments with the powered snow (the kind you add water to and it turns cold and really soft). Regardless, if you can fit it into clear glass ornaments or even custom ornaments, it would be adorable and memorable. Think about it this way, you could even break the ornaments to get the item out if you find a way to get it in there to begin with. Tiny teddy bears can often be pushed into them, but not taken out once they reexpand, but it will take tweezers to get them to sit up properly.

For the menu, I wouldn't worry so much. People are eating so much everywhere else it would be just as well to serve finger foods and spend the money on a good DJ that can get everyone on the floor dancing. Sit down meals usually lead to irritated people that have to wait on the Bride and Groom to finish taking pictures before they eat.

I hope this helps a little bit.

Try for a crystal forest theme.

Centerpieces - dry twigs spray painted white sprinkled with glitter and teal flowers added in.

Favors - scented candles shaped like glittery snow-balls, with teal and white ribbons.

Menu - that's up to your caterer, guest list and budget. A nice poached salmon would be lovely - strawberries dipped in white chocolate

Time of year - The only thing to worry about is the weather. My nephew and his wife had a beautiful winter wedding - but it was in the middle of an ice-storm. The roads were treacherous and unsafe. The band couldn't get there and had to cancel at the last minute - as did half the guests.

Wow there are some jerks on here!!! There is nothing tacky about this idea!! The key to making it elegance is to go heavy on the white and silver, with teal accents for effect.

Time of year: November-January are probably the best for this theme

Ideas:
- use snowflakes. There are lots of elegant snowflake ideas out there for favors, centerpeices, etc. One really beautiful idea would be to buy a bunch of snowflake tree ornaments that are white with sparkle to them and hang them from clear fishing line from the ceiling over the dance floor. Make sure to vary the heights so you have the look of falling snow.
- use shine. To bring out the fairytale feeling, use silvers, glitter, sparkles, clear gems, etc to add elegance and a "fairytale" sparkle to the decor
- a great idea for a cake would be a white cake with a teal ribbon around the bottom of each layer. The use snowflakes made from royal icing placed around the layers and top it with a crystal cake tiara. (kind of like this, but with teal ribbon: http://www.weddingstyle.ca/Cakes%20Snowflakes.JPG - with a topper like this one: http://www.brides.com/upload/images/a/t/atan/00_main/501008896_primary.jpg)
- for wedding favors, get simple white organza bags and fill them with mints. Tie them shut with a teal colored ribbon and attached a tiara shaped tag with your names and date, and a small silver snowflake charm to each bag.
- for centerpieces, try something like this: http://www.surroundings.com/509snowflakecpk9.jpg but add in a little confetti in a teal color (perhaps some teal colored rhinestones or a jewels) and you could mix it up a little with a combination of snowflakes and tiaras.

I think getting married on New Year's Eve would be fun and romantic...bringing in the new year with a new fresh start and beginning a new life together. It would def be an unforgettable wedding for all that attend. This idea would also make the centerpieces and favors a little easier to figure becuase you can go with New Year's themed things...

Venture into the woods and gather some fallen saplings. Spray paint them white and silver and hang white Christmas lights on them. Have an abundance of icle lights too. you can buy artificial snow flakes that are like confetti to sprinkle in centers of the tables. Place frosted candle holders over them. Start now to look for colored glass candle holders so you have time to find what colors you need. Make your favors snowflake themed. Glitter is cheap and has many uses. Commission an ice sculpture and use colored lights to highlight it.

Congrats and Good Luck!

If you are using a flower girl, have her sprinkle artificial snowflakes covered in glitter down the aisles, instead of flowers. At the reception hall, those same snowflakes can be hung from the ceiling with fishing line.
i attached a link with a great winter wedding reception theme and also a link of some beautiful winter wedding things you can buy...and also a couple cakes

There are eiffel tower vases (you can find them on Ebay or craft stores) fill them with small crystals (look like ice) and put flowers that match your colors on top, scatter extra crystals around the table top. Have an ice sculpture. I've seen people spay paint twigs white and glittery and intertwine them with white twinkle lights to pull of the winter theme. I think wine stoppers are good favors because they are useful and come in so many different themes. As far as the menu, serve soup and several different meat options (roast, ham, fish). Depending on where you live, keep the weather in mind, you might want to have it in late November/ early December to avoid flight delays or storm issues. Good luck and congratulations!

centre pieces, something simple, maybe a tall vase with 3 flowers...colour the water with teal food colour. sprinkle silver glitter around the vase on the table.

Favours, howabout silver sacks (little ones) with pull strings of gold chocolate coins. It looks classy.

Beef wellington, lots of veg, Pasta Napolitana, and various assorted salads.

Apple crumble and cream for dessert.

well one cool centerpiece would be dry ice in small bowls on the tables to give off a nice foggy look. also go with january...it is after all the holiday stuff. as far as food goes you could do just about anything! you could even have a huge ice cream wedding cake! that would be good! Good luck with everything!
