You should be okay especially if the cat is up on its shots and flea control (lower worm risk).

Thank goodness... We have immune systems.

99.9% probability that nothing will happen, you will not catch anything from the cat, you will not even feel sick - not even slightly.

But 100 % chance that tomorrow - the sun will rise in the east , you will breathe in more germs and touch more germs and toxin on everyday objects during the day than anything (if any) that cat might have left in the glass you drank out of, and Australia will still be here (because 11 minutes after you posted the question, it is already Wednesday here in the Land Down Under)

Cheers, mate!

During a bad storm years ago I sat down to drink a nice hot drink- no more food in the house and I was cold and depressed. My cat hopped up on my lap and drank some. I looked at it and thought well what the heck- he drinks after me now I drink after him. No harmful side effects- just an uncontrollable urge to use the litter pan once in a while.

Not at all if your cat is healthy. Mind you your cat may be just asking the same question to itself right now, that is,"My human house companion has drank from my glass. . .is it dangerous if I drink from it now. . .? What can it do?. Surf in answers it may have put the question somewhere by clicking the PC mouse in order to get an answer that reassures it that it's not going to get fatally ill and loose one of its nine lives.

Cats and humans share few illnesses, so you should be okay. One illness cats can give people is toxoplasmosis, but it is spread through the cat's poop, not saliva. In any case, toxoplasmosis is only dangerous to pregnant women, because it can harm the unborn child. That is why pregnant women should never clean litter boxes. Otherwise, toxoplasmosis just shows up as a cold-like illness and passes quickly.
In any case, my two year old son loves to drink from my cat's water dish when I am not looking, and he is healthy as can be.

Cats have far less bacteria in their mouths than humans do. The risk would be higher for the cat than for you. I wouldn't worry. By the way what are you 3?

Its Puuurrrrrfect, shouldnt think its will be a problem. Just watch out for any unusual behaviour, like being drawn to catnip, or wanting to rub yourself on someones legs. No I'm kidding, its a really BIG problem, you should get checked out by a vet straight away and get yourself dewormed, your claws clipped and maybe think about nutering? Im joking again, you'll be fine!

You'll probably turn into a cat in the next few days, but dont worry - at least you'll get nine lives.

I suppose it could be dangerous I think I would take it to the vet just in case it has caught something off you.

i'm sure the cat will be fine as long as your jabs are all up to date ;o) seriously.. my little monkey drinks out of my glass quite often - cats do that! and whilst they are not the cleanest of animals this is very unlikely to do you any harm (in my opinion!)
