Why christians?
isn't this an evolution question?
shouldn't we have evolved past the need for toenail?
and why are they on the top and not the bottom of the toes?
what did man do about them before toenail clippers?

Probably to help protect our delicate toes from the surrounding environment. Imagine walking around and then you kick something or stub your toe. Without a toenail it would hurt like...heck.

I don't know the biblical standpoint on that (nor do I understand why men have nipples).
Serious question-What is the evolution standpoint on toenails?

edit-nevermind, I got plenty of answers ahead of me that explains a lot.

why dont you try taking one of your toenails off and see how that goes - they do have a function even if you can't figure it out

To protect our toes. If a knife falls it is preferable that it hits a toe nail.

Fingernails are to protect our fingers -
As someone that has been trained as a profession chef, we are taught to place our finger nails close to the knife blade in order to protect our fingers from being cut.

So, the only thing holding you back is toenails?

Seems petty to me.

Peace!
