I am not sure if you are saying he won't talk about anything or just about feelings.

Try to ask him questions about his day and what is going on in his life. It will open up some communications lines, then maybe you can talk to him about the issues you have. If you are going to dump a lot of feelings stuff on him but do not expect him to actually do anything, be sure to tell him that. Tell him you just need an ear.
