The average American has to drive some and also cannot afford gas! If we do nothing about it will continue. In some countries, they pay less than 50 cents and in countries where some people are willing to throw their money away by driving suv's and gas hogs, they are raping us. What are we to do except unite and boycott?
Not just one day.

You hit the nail on the head! If people actually stopped driving everywhere, it WOULD make a difference. Boycotting for one day makes NO difference. No, of course it isn't going to work. Just use some common sense. Even if EVERYONE participated, this has NO impact on the oil companies or gas stations, because it doesn't change how much gas they sell. All that happens is that people buy their gas a day earlier or a day later. That said, you CAN make a difference. If you really, really want to help lower gas prices, you have to STOP USING GAS. Period. If you are not willing to walk or take the bus more, then you are going to be wasting your time bothering to "boycott" by not buying gas. Changing the day you get gas makes no difference.

The only way a boycott works is to do it for a constant time meaning no driving. Gas can be 50 cents in other countries because OPEC sell to them for less money, also they have a large reserve of gas and keep buying even though they don't need the gas.

That is easier said than done. I would love to boy cot their asses off but like most Americans - We need gas to live. That is the same with oil. The Oil Company knows we need it so they do "Rape" us really hard. They make Billions of dollars in profits each year. We are the ones who suffer and of course the President could care less as he does not have to pay for anything - We pay for all his expenses. Not fare but not much we can do about it...

Actually there is much we can do.

Turn our thermostats up (or down in the winter), use flourescent lightbulbs, carpool, bike or walk.

If you are invested in gas companies (Exxon, BP, Shell, etc) sell your stocks and quit giving them money.

Stop using gasoline credit cards, don't buy anything else at gas stations other than gas and use public transportation.

The problem is most people, although strapped for cash, are not willing to change their lives at ALL.

That is the American way.

You have any ideas on how to boycott the government? I'm all ears, if you do.

On average, the refiner makes about 8 cents per gallon profit. While your state and federal government makes about 45 cents per gallon in extortion fees.

Makes me wonder exactly who Hillary was talking about seizing profits from....really.

I don't see a lot that I can do. Can get a bike, to go in to get my mail, here. Or even walk it. It's only a mile.
But when I need groceries or household things, I have to drive. It's 15 miles in to the city, for supplies. No busses nor trains.

Gas Boycott's are a joke. They do nothing. You want to do something. Only use two squares of toilet paper when you use the bathroom, #1 AND #2. LOL

Spend the day tuning up your car, getting the tire pressures right and changing the air cleaner.

Make a difference
