How can a guy that wants to become a merc find the companies that hire these kind of soldiers? And do they have the right to turn down contracts they don't want?

First of all, yes I don't have any experience and you could damn well figure I know what needs to be done in order to get the credentials. None of you answered my second question thou: Can a merc refuse a contract if he's not a freelance, but working for a PC?

Being a mercenary is not exactly the career choice for many. First, you must be prior military and be able to pass a background screen to work for any agency under government contract. By stating the obvious you have no prior military training. As stated in an earlier response, you must have a marketable skill ie. special forces, navy seals, intelligence, language skills (Farsi, Arabic, and french are most common in middle east). But one very important thing to remember, by being a mercenary you can become an enemy combatant against the United States with the stroke of a pen. Remember that one mans freedom fighter is an another mans terrorist. The US will do nothing for you if you are captured in a foreign war zone that it has no interest in.

First you need some marketable skills as a Soldier.
Even a Grunt is better served if he was Airborne, Ranger or SF. Those four Blackwater Mercenaries who were "delivering kitchen supplies" in Fallujah, three were ex Navy SEALS the other a former Army Ranger.

To me a merc, you have to make a name for yourself in the underground. A good merc is known only by those who need one. If you are good enough, the they will find you.

First, you need plenty of good training and experience. An enlistment in the U.S. Marines will provide that. Afterwards, look up the folks at Blackwater...

First of all, do you have any experience? Playing video games or paintball doesn't count. I'm talking real operator experience? I'm guessing that if you don't have at least five years of that, you will get laughed at. If you wanna go join some shiteball , third world dictator's thug squad, they might take ya...or kill ya....

why do you want to be a hired killer???? they are nothing but murderous dogs that only care about the all mighty dollar! blackwater is one of the worst god awe full things every invented! worn out wannabe soldiers barely making it in there field drop out for money. yeah the made it through the training but that does not mean they have the right stuff to make it in the military. those who fight and die for a nation are heroes they fight for ideals, mercenaries fight for a plasma screen and a Ferrari.
