The way you question this, seems apparent that you have not had this before. Poison ivy or the other poison sumacs generally take about 24 to thirty six hours before symptoms began to appear once contact has been made. First the itching starts, then redness from scratching and irritation. Clusters of small blistering will appear throughout various areas of the skin and body parts if left untreated. If left untreated for very long, there is a risk of entering into your blood circulatory system.

It starts with slightly raised redness, and itching. It will not be a uniform circle like a mosquito or flea bite. If yellow ooze comes out of the blister, it is poison ivy/oak.
get the orange hand cleaner in the automotive section. It's the stuff mechanics use to take off grease and oil. This works extremely well at removing the oils. But once they seep into your skin and pores, it is difficult to treat. Use hand cleaner around the rash to keep it from spreading. Keep the rash covered with clothing, gauze, to keep from spreading to other parts of your body.

If you get into poison ivy, yes, it will blister up unless you are among the extreme few who are immune.

Yes it will get a blister. If you scratch it it will spread so dont. Put calmine lotion on it and take some benadril for the itching.
