The Hindus say there are millions of hells, because a hell is a simple matter of physics. The spiritual energies we create with our spirits, are drawn to the magnetic center of a planet. And there are
millions of planets out there.
Lust, anger, revenge, fear. All these things create masses of energy that are made of the type of emotion that created it.
If a soul gets caught up in this hellforce. Due to doubt there is a better place, or their own guilt and fear draws them there. It is a very unpleasant experience. The Word says hell is not a permament place. As hell and death will be destroyed at some point.
The Lake of Fire is what we need to worry about. It is called the Second Death. I feel it is a Cosmic Recycler. Where those spirits that will not reform, will be left. To struggle, as they have the will to survive. Until they finally give up that will to survive, and lose their individual indentity. And it ain't pretty!

Hell is a creation of humans. I agree with some of the above answers that there is a certain type of person that would deserve it. Rapists, murderers, child molesters and so on, but there is no such place as Hell. The most we can do is catch those people and make sure that they have a horrible time here on Earth, because that's the most they deserve.

No one "deserves" Hell. We all make a free choice to accept Jesus as our Savior or not. Many out there do not believe in God or Jesus; I happen to be one of those who does believe. I believe what the Bible says, "Every knee shall bow before the Lord God."
God loves everyone equally he has no favorites. He has asked us to do only one thing; to accept Jesus as our Lord. The choice to do so is yours. Will God love you any less if you don't? No, He won't, but you will make him sad because on the day of judgment all will be judged by Him and Him alone. Those who have answered saying murders, rapists, homosexuals, and etc. do not know and should not judge for God. Most, but not all, Christians believe they must judge when they do not have that right! They point fingers at those whom do not agree with them and tell them they are "going to Hell" for this reason or that...Christians have NO right to do so.
No one "deserves" hell...but yes eventually there are those whom will go of their own free will. Accept Jesus, Whom is not a task master, and you will have made your choice not to go.

Everyone who does not believe in Jesus Christ deserves Hell.
Jesus Christ came in the flesh so that “you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name” (John 20:30,31). This is another witness to God’s existence and also stands to condemn those men who choose to reject Christ as the Son of God. Because Christ came to pay the price of sin, and He came to “explain the Father” (John 1:18), man has no excuse for rejecting Him. Men choose to go to hell because they reject Christ, not because God causes them to go there. God has paid the price, revealed Himself to all, and now men are “without excuse” (Romans 1:20). God allows people to be born to give them the opportunity to believe, but it is man’s responsibility to make that choice. What kind of God would He be if He did not give man the opportunity to place his faith in the Lord?

The Bible says the we all deserve hell.
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Notice what it says the GIFT of God is eternal life. Salvation is a gift, salvation is not based on my merits, but on Christ's merits.
