2 friend shares a common FREE yahoo mail account id & password.
One day one of them 'h' gets some sentimental mails from his girlfriend on that common account....
Now to hide his personnal mails from other man ....
'h' immediately changes password WITHOUT informing other partner about it and denies to share that new password & return his mails.
If the suffered partner want to punish 'h'.......

NO punishment under IT Act,2000 as the Yahoo Mail services enjoyed by both are free Internet services not paid ones. There is no tampering with computer source documents nor there is any hacking with computer system in changing the password of any free service being shared by both of them. If it was paid Internet mail service or with regards to the computer system itself not the Internet service being used on the computer, then the provisions of IT Act could be said to have been infringed.

None. See it's free and both of them knew the password. It's not up to yahoo to see who the account actually belongs too. The other man needs to get his own person account and not share or give out the password and account number.

the password is not what you use in the room. the username is what you use. 100 people can use the same password as long as they do not have the same username
