The bible is nothing more than filth. It has some of the most disgusting, vile, insane trash in it.
Misogyny, racism, slavery, child abuse, murder, incest. Reading that book is no different than reading the personal diaries of a some serial killer. People need to start throwing that book away and start living in the real world.

Yes it is one of a million books! A very Old Book, People have lived their lives by that One book for many many years.
It is accepted as fact because there are so many facts in it, It has predicted the future perfectly! It is amazing to me how people can deny something that was published in 1611 to be fact, when things in it have and will continue to be full filled. It explains how life should be lived, any problems that comes up in life it has an answer for it. It is precious and no I don't think it has nothing to do with faith I don't need faith to see the obvious faith is something you need when you don't have something right before your eyes. I accept it because It is my road map, for everything in life.

The Bible is 66 books written over a period of thousands of years, with a host of different writers, from rich kings, to poor shepherds to prophets. All witnessing to the same truth! There is no book in this world like the Bible.

Because it was written several thousand years ago, yet it is still contemporary in today's life. There were other books written by other cultures at the same time about their gods, but are not applicable in today's world. The Egyptian book was "The Book of the Dead." We can still read it today, but it was about living in the afterlife which doesn't really apply in today's world.
The Bible was is about real people (or at least realistic characters) and sibling rivalry. Part of that rivalry was about who does God love most?
Because the Bible was written by Hebrews/Israelites about their own God, others are jealous because because God seems to love them more. From that comes Christianity with more sibling rivalry and God loves all people, but only Christians go to heaven. After another 500 years, we get Mohammed who teaches that God loves Muslims more than anyone else.
The Bible has survived all these centuries because we will always have sibling rivaly and the book teaches us how to LIVE together peacefully in spite of our evil inclinations. Why is it that we fail to learn from 6,000 years of dysfunctional families/communities?
Why is it that the Bible (a book of LIFE) survives and the Book of the Dead has been discarded? Could it be that there are lessons to be learned from past mistakes?
I don't accept it as a "fact" if by that you mean literal. But it is obviously about LIFE of that time.
About prophesy: The only prophets included in the Bible are those whose prophesy has been proven. There were many, many "prophets" in those days, but false prophets were not included in the Bible. Prophesy was for the immediate future, not for thousands of years down the road!

Some of the Bible is fact, the early Church (Acts of the Apostles), as well as the books of Kings, are quite historical. It also has survived quite long, there are not many books still so widely circulated from its time period.

Yes, It's amazing how this book stands out from other books..
I can understand that in olden days people were not use to books and so would put their authors on a pedestal.
But one would think that people of today would see it for what it is...JUST a book.

Because I've found peace and joy through reading it and have had a wonderful relationship with my Lord and Savior...He shows me His will through the Bible...that's never happened with any of the other books I've read, and I've read many, many books.

Awe it bothers you that people would answer with faith huh?
Well faith has alot to do with it but there are answers in the bible to things that have happened and things that are going to happen.... you either understand them, or you don't.
It does take faith and something besides your own understanding of something, you have to 1st have faith to gain the understanding of the bible and all of it's truths.
So, I'm sorry if I'm being quite juvinile in your eyes but.
"FAITH" is key ... sorry

The bible is sixty-six books in one book.
It is fact, it is truth and the Holy Spirit helped to understand it as I read it.

It is faith! The Bible is a blue print God shared with us. His laws that he wanted man-kind to follow. The Bible helps bring us closer to God.
