As a born again Christian I do not experience that feeling.

Maybe you should give us some examples of how life has been like hell for you.

We really need more information about you to answer your question. If you are a Born Again Christian, maybe you are being tested to see if you deserve a greater blessing. Look at Job in the Bible. Was any man tested more than he was? Yet he was faithful and God rewarded his faithfulness. If you are not a Born again Christian, then I know the hell of which you speak. I was not released from that life until I came to know Jesus as my Savior. Life now, is not a bed of roses, but I have meaning and purpose and direction. At the end, I will rest in His arms, and that makes life now, good.

We can work out our problems on earth. Once your in Hell, there is no chance of asking for forgiveness.
That's why people say there's one shot it life. You can't go back and fix things once it's too late.
Make your life right before you die, not after.
But, to answer your question, life is hard, and feels like we're living hell. But, problems can be solved, sins can be forgiven. Life can get better.

Religious answer:
Eve ate the apple; she enjoined Adam in the act. They were cast out of Eden and humankind has had original sin on its soul ever since. All humans are born in sin, except for Mary, who was the mother of Jesus. God sent His Only Begotten Son to save us from this sin, but we didn't accept him, and so we continue to suffer, and that is what you are calling, "hell."
My answer:
In order to know dark, you must know light. In order to know sad, you must know happy; in order to know great joy, you must know great sorrow--hell. We cannot know a thing, if we do not know its opposite.
(The fact that humankind has devolved into such cruel and selfish beings doesn't help, either.) According to the Durants, civilization was going to give us time for leisure and learning, but it's caused boredom and fed ignorance, and cruelty has become a kind of heinous game.

Hell is literally being away from God and being subject to the Devil. If we do not seek out for Gods guidance than life can be hell with only being subject to the Devil.

But seek out God in mighty, and earnest prayer. And "Hell" can be dismissed in a sense. That was metaphoracle....

--Jesus said that Satan is being allowed to be the ruler of this sick world:

(1 John 5:18-20) 18 We know that every [person] that has been born from God does not practice sin, but the One born from God watches him, and the wicked one does not fasten his hold on him. 19 We know we originate with God, but the whole world is lying in the [power of the] wicked one. 20 But we know that the Son of God has come, and he has given us intellectual capacity that we may gain the knowledge of the true one. And we are in union with the true one, by means of his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and life everlasting. "

--THIS DEPICTS WHAT YOU MENTIONED:
(Job 14:1) 14 “Man, born of woman, Is short-lived and glutted with agitation."

--When Satan challenged Jehovah God in the incident at Job 1 , his claim was that nobody would serve God because of Love but from what God would give them.

--PLEASE READ , ESPECIALLY Job 1 & 2 and see how Moses recorded that sick challenge!
--Then God allowed Satan to test Job.
--Much more serious and important is how Jesus stood up to Satan and indeed conquered the world and its ways. Giving us a chance for everlasting life on a paradise earth. ".......thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven....."--Jesus words at Matthew 6:9

--THE HOPE ahead as Jesus promised would involve these blessings for the "meek who will inherit the earth."

(Revelation 21:2-4) “. . .. 3 With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.””

Well sometimes life sucks but I wouldn't compare it to hell.
Hell is a place like no other as it is described.
