Sweetie, there are positives and negatives to this.Positive, you may be able to rekindle what you had.Negatives, you must remember why he was an ex in the first place. Also, you must realise that you both have not seen each other for 22 years, and that there is a chance he has moved on and that could set you up for another heartbreak. Also,if he is in a relationship or married and has moved on with his life, how is his family,girlfriend/wife,going to respond to ex being back into the picture?I am sure you dont want to tear their family apart. These are several things you should think about when attempting to contact someone from a previous relationship.Good luck hun,and have a good day!!

If you decide to do it, be ready for any eventuality. He could be a married father of many children by now. He could be a quadriplegic somewhere, he could be incarcerated or he could be dead. 22 years is a long time and he may not be the same person he was 22 years ago. On the otherhand, he may be as you imagined he was when you last spoke to him, only, older, grayer and heavier or thinner. If you can deal with the changes, it would not be a crime to find out..However, I would write an introductory letter, send a short and businesslike greeting card and ask him to call me first. Then I would possibly, call his cell phone or his work number first, not his house-- until you find out his circumstances and current lifestyle.

Why do you want to contact your ex-boyfriend? Are there issues you need to clean up after all these years?

If it makes you feel better to reach out to him, then send him a letter, but not a love letter because that would not be fair should he be married and have children.

Sometimes though, it is never a good idea to step backwards in life ... always go forward.

My husbands old girlfriend tryed to contact him after 27 years through My Space. She left a message on our sons page (he has the same name as my husband) asking about my hubby. I told my husband and he said just delete it. He didn't want anything to do with her. So you can try, but be prepared...he probably has a full life now.

ex boyfriend, ex-teacher, ex-bestfriend, there all blasts from the past and are great to catch up with, but if your searching for more, when you call don't let it show, feel his situation out first, if he is single go for it, if he is still in your thoughts after 22 years he must have been special
