I was brought up as a Christian at a young age. I was in my twenties when I deconverted from Christianity. I've been an atheist for over 20 years.

"i would still be doing things that I should not be doing"
well i'm glad that with whatever the help you're leading a good life, but that doesn't go on to say that people can't lead good lives without a God in their lives.....i lead a perfectly good, moral life...don't do drugs, don'y drink except at occasions ,don't smoke at all....depends on the person really....
how come you don't ask yourself the Q,if god does exist, why does god ALLOW deaths at such a young age and lets misery be caused all around?
i'm NOT saying that god makes people die, what i'm asking is,why doesn't he do something to STOP? it shouldn't be so hard for such an all powerful being....

I dont remember but i am a christian.I am christian due to some circumstances too that led me to GOD through JESUS.
John 3:16[kjv] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
so when we believe in JESUS we have eternal life.JESUS lived a sinless life and gave up his life as a sacrifice so we can be sin free. Ask JESUS to come into your heart and forgive ur sins and cleanse ur past with his blood.
With a simple prayer like above u can be saved.JESUS loves u and wants u to be saved.

I'm not a Christian, but I turned to God and became serious about my religion after the death of a relative who also had cancer.

Not exactly like that, no.
I'm 39. I was agnostic 'till age 20, when I had a near-death experience featuring terrifying visions of hell. I came out the other side an overnight concert to Christianity.

My parents baptized me a Christian-Catholic when I was a baby. I did not have a choice but now, I made a choice to embrace my religion. I thank God for being born to two religious parents who introduced me to a wonderful religion and educate me in a Catholic school.
God bless! Always!

Sorry...i'm specific you're unhappy approximately your mom's dying, and omit her very plenty. yet "orbs" in photos are not any form of spirit or ghost or something, they are in basic terms airborne dirt and dirt illuminated via easy (the two the flash of the digital camera or different easy components). remember the sturdy cases you had with your mom -- as long as you remember her, she's no longer "long previous." :) Peace.
