In all seriousness , the best way to treat it is go to your local doctor and get his opinion, getting suggestions off the net without any confirmation of the person replying is really really dumb.

NEVER go by anything on the web wrt medical issues.A visual diagnosis by a cerified doctor is always the safest route.

what a pain in the neck pinche nerves can be, huh? Seriously! I get them quite often too and there is nothing more aggrivating than that constant gnawing at the back of your neck and shoulders that you cant seem to put your finger on. Am I right?

If you agree, than here are a few things I have found that help lessen the pain and sometimes take it away all together.

1. you must relax and do not aggrivate it anymore by poking or pushing on the area that hurts.(this will usually make it worse)
2. if you can, try meditating. I am no pro at sitting still for very long but if you can focus and visualize the exact spot that is causing the pain, than you can concentrate and mentally extract it from your body. Let your imagination go and release all tension and tightness, any stress and worry flows out through your arms and exits your body through the hands.
3. Sitting in one position for any length of time and doing repetitive motions (like being on the computer) is not a good way to heal a pinch nerve.
4. Try stretching a little at a time. Do not baby it! Just be cautious and definitely dont hurry the process. It will just take longer.
5. This is a must!!! As soon as you feel an ounce of pain, start icing and then heating injured area. Do this in 5 minute intervals. Repeat for as long as you feel necessary.
6. If you still are not feeling any better than I suggest seeing a chiropractor that still does spinal manipulation by hand.
7. DRINK WATER!!!!

Hope you feel better

First how do you know it is a pinched nerve in the neck? Did you see a Doc, did you have any tests or are you just guessing? If you saw a Doc, had the tests which revealed a pinch nerve then your Doc would have told you the next step in treatment.
If you are just guessing, then go to the Doc PDQ and see what the problem really is.

i had this injury a couple of years ago. I played softball all day the day before...the next morning...i couldn't hardly move my head it was so painfull..omg. My dr looked at it told me it was a pinched nerve...gave me a pamphlet that had safe stretching exercises to do. prescribed me some muscle relaxers & pain killer. Heating pad for me made it the pain tolerable. it took several days for it to feel better. i even went to a chiropractor just to see if the pain would subside a little bit. I'd never been but it seemed to relieve me just a bit. Just give it some time. keep stretching it. it will feel better eventually. good luck.
