If you are not a citizen of either Canada or the U.S., then you will need your passport, of course.
However, since you are a Permanent Resident of the U.S., you will not need a Visa to enter Canada, but can do so by showing your P.R. Documentation (green card).

You will need a passport to fly between the two. This will extend to all crossings next year.

you can visit canada with a birth certificate or a passport is needed with an drivers licenes.
